Ooops, thought I was in the lounge there for a moment. What I meant to say was, Please think before you write. I think half of this anti-DLC heat is being generated and/or aggitated by Freeper-creepers. We can disagree on policy issues, but name calling and label mongering do nothing but make the site look bad and eat up bandwidth.

Unfortunately all of that wouldn't fit into the subject line. So I insulted dingoes instead. I apologize to all dingoes.

1. Dingoes are nice doggies, and don't deserve your insults,
but you're right about the agitation.

The RWers are taking advantage of the fact that Dems tend to actually CARE about things...

2. Dingoes?
We need no stinking dingoes!

As for DLC, all I have to say is this: get your hands off me, you damn, dirty ape!

4. hehehe. I agree, basically.
As I said in a post earlier, it may be time to set Mr Niceguy (DLC) to the side, but Mr Niceguy is certainly not the enemy!

5. Most of the anti-DLC posters have been here a long time and are
anything but freepers.

The DLCers started it yesterday evening by presenting the DLC's proposed platform as if it was new and wonderful and an irresistible sure vote-getter.

Some of us beg to differ. :-)

The first thing I thought of was that classic Seinfeld episode..."Maybe the Dingoes ate your baby..." Wonderful "random" line.

10. Trouble is the DLC is sprouting "Be Happy" slogans...
...when we need is someone with Fire-in-the-Belly, Hell-and-Brimstone, genuine ANGER and not afraid to show it. When we needed someone like Howard Dean, the establishment gave us John Kerry.

John Kerry is well qualified, honorable and would have been a good president. But we need someone who is going to WIN before we can govern. If we can't win, we can't fix the disaster the Repugs have made of our country...

...And I'm too old and mean to emigrate...

12. I'm too busy being pissed off at Republicans than tearing down those in my
party. They piss me off more quite frankly.

The election isn't until 08', there is a way we can work on a message without tearing each other to shreds.

Personally, I think the Dems have been doing well lately...or would you rather them be frothing at the mouth acting hysterical at all times? I prefer them to be more strategic than "hell-and-brimstone", sure there are moments when showing anger is acceptable but it's always wise to keep your wits.

14. Agreed, we shouldn't be slinging slurs...
...but we need to discuss party platform and tactics. Repug-lite doesn't look like it has been doing too well lately.
I agree with you that we have been doing fairly well as long as you don't count that little dog-pile on Dean last spring. Though as for Lieberman...I'll leave the gloves on for now.

Passion works! (and yea, I was a Deaniac.)

15. Not in the fucking least.
Some of us have been watching this DLC shit go on for years, now.

We're sick of it.

THEY lost the election for Kerry- just "by the way." They kept telling him to say things like "I would have voted for the IWR again." When he finally pulled out of his tailspin it was because he finally started listening to people like DEAN. Too late then, though, the damage had been done.

16. The dingoes accept your apology, but I'm locking...
anyway.

If we find any freeps trolling the board, we will dispatch them forthwith, and it would be best if there were no public accusations about who or what might be trolling. Ye Olde Alert Button is there for that,

The entire discussion of the DLC is heading over a cliff, btw, and while it is always a good subject to discuss, we would like to see things cool off for at least a little while.
