CIA Told Novak That Rove's Story Was Wrong

According to the Washington Post, columnist Bob Novak was told by the
CIA's spokesperson that Karl Rove's story was wrong. Wilson was not
sent by his wife to Niger and she was still a covert agent whose name
should not be disclosed. Nevertheless, Novak
still disclosed the agent's name and went with Rove's story.

"How far will the Bush smear machine go?" said Democratic National
Committee Chairman Howard Dean. "Novak knew all this and still
published his story. Who in the Bush Administration was powerful enough
to convince Novak to disregard the CIA? Who else did Novak speak to
about Wilson's wife? It is becoming clearer every day that more and
more White House officials are involved in this scandal, having put
partisan politics above our country's national security."

to rank and file Dems - using the party network because he knows the news media can't be relied upon to report the news fully and fairly.

Dems have tried to go on tv - but they can't get much coverage. Recall they couldn't even get CSPAN to cover their press conference the other day.

Its up to us to help keep up the pressure on the news media to cover these stories. Its obvious the corporate news media only wants to make up stories about Hillary & the DLC.

Dean is staying focused, staying on message, as he should be.

27. You are right, and we need to capitalize on that. We really need, I think,

to push this issue and have the kind of in-the-spotlight coverage on the 'rationale' for this war AND its effects. Anyone who bothers to inform him/herself about the devastation in Iraq and Afghanistan should be horrified at most of what is happening there (and that's not to say that there are not pockets of 'progress' or that I fault our troops, and fuck you any lurking freepers who think we don't recognize such things)
And we need to take personal AND shared responsibility to try to make that happen - WE need to pressure the media, as individuals AND as members of organizations; WE need to HOUND members of Congress, as individuals and as members of organizations; WE need to be RELENTLESS in calling the White House and (in civil, reasonable tone and language) demand answers.
And WE NEED TO DO THIS DAY AFTER DAY AFTER DAY....
If each and every one of us committed to ONE A DAY EVERY DAY...one phone call to a Senator/Congressperson and one to a media outlet, and got TWO friends to commit to doing the same, and asked them to commit to getting two more friends each to doing the same...you get the idea. The DU activist corps, basically...but make it a personal commitment outside of DU activism as well.
The One A Day Every Day thing is a habit I've been developing for a couple of months now, and many days I do a lot more, mostly via e-mail (as I know many of you do too)
But we need to kick it up a notch...
