Democrats Must Fight Roberts |
|
Democrats must fight the Roberts nomination. This guy is nowhere near being a moderate. This guy is for a narrow interputation of Title X. In addition, this guy is for giving prosecutors and cops more leeway in interrograting suspected criminals without their lawyers. It has been reported that when this guy was at odds with the Reagan administrations and the other groups that he worked for it was because he wanted a more conservative interputation of the law. This guy is one of those people who would like to shread the Constitution. Democrats must put up a fight on this nomination. I contend if the Democrats bring the case to the people the people will speak up against this guy and help fight against him.

I say fight. The Administration is vulnerable, and they know it.

I got a call from Dean and the DNC putting together a fund to fight Roberts, telling me that if the money didn't end up being used for that purpose, that it would go to the Senate re-election fund.
I've heard Hillary is going to approve him.
And Kerry is talking about what's at stake and leading the fight to get more documentation on the guy.
Haven't heard what others have said, except for a couple of rumbles about how Roberts was probably not fightable.
