GOP paid R-Michael Steele of MD to run for U.S. Senate?
Per Buzzflash- http://www.buzzflash.com/analysis/05/07/ana05026.html

"The Maryland Republican Party is paying Michael S. Steele $5,000 a month in consulting fees under an arrangement that began shortly after his selection as gubernatorial candidate Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s running mate."

And Steele is taking the heat for having Rove there tonight-
http://www.blackamericaweb.com/site.aspx/bawnews/steele728 (and numerous other stories on the AP)

Pretty desperate and pretty lame :eyes:

2. And they paid
off Alan Keyes' mortgage debt in Maryland to the extent of $200,000 to help induce him to move to Illinois and run against Obama. Do we see a pattern here?

12. The last I heard
he was babbling something any sane person would be ashamed of after it hit the press that his daughter is a lesbian.

6. How come JC Watts missed the GOP gravy train?
I know they didn't want to let him have the leadership role he earned as a Congressman, but why did he bail on them?

10. He didn't - he was purchased by a handful of wealthy oil
men in Oklahoma before he ran the first time. They paid off his debts and gave him money through his company. Kind of a new form of slavery. He left the House to make more money.

He is one very empty suit.

7. Is it Mfume he'll be running against?
Were we just handed ideas for campaign ads? Images of Steele and that prick Rove cozying up to one another.

9. Radio ad in Baton Rogue:"from the same party that brought you David Duke."
That's all we (African-American radio listeners in BR) needed to hear about a GOP candidate back in the days...

11. Hell, I'm lily white and that would have done it for me.
It really depresses me as I think back to JK's campaign and blown opportunities for scathing ads. Smirk addressing his elite base/have mores; Smirk joking and looking behind the curtains for WMDs, etc. Those type of images and words straight from our fearless leader's mouth. Instead, what did we get? An ostrich and an eagle?

13. Think Cardin will get nomination...
And I believe will beat Steele...

Steele is an empty suit...heard him on the radio a couple times taking questions...and the guy is incoherent!!!

Cardin, while not Mr. Charisma, comes of as very sincere and very smart...

Mfume is not gonna get it....some kind of marital scandal...and is behind in the polls...he oughtta drop out.
