Remove DeLay's $1.5 billion gift to Halliburton

After negotiations on the energy bill were done, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay reportedly snuck in a $1.5 billion taxpayer-funded giveaway to Halliburton Corporation and other big oil companies.

It's an outrage. Contact your member of Congress today to demand that DeLay's giveaway to Halliburton be removed at once.

This energy bill is so full of pork and taxpayer subsidies for profitable oil and gas companies that Tom DeLay didn't think anyone would notice. But Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) caught it and blew the whistle. Adding insult to injury, DeLay's provision could funnel the money through a private consortium in his hometown of Sugar Land, Texas, which was created with $3.6 million in Texas taxpayer funds with the promise of creating 1,500 jobs. So far, not a single job has been created.

Write your member of Congress to urge them to do everything they can to remove DeLay's Halliburton giveaway.
