Hi! I'm babsbunny and I'm a Democrat |
|
Who wants to join Domocrats Anonymous? There is no hope from what I see here at DU. I can't come here for encouragement anymore. There is no hope.

1. babsbunny, join a LOCAL Democratic organization |
|
NOT a local chapter of DFA or a local chapter of another national group.
Join your county party. They are focused on winning and not bullshit purity tests and infighting.

6. Thank you for defining wyldwolf's terms for her, though I'm sure she have |
|
asked if she needed help.
But I'm pretty sure the purity test being referred to is the one where one vote can result in someone being called "Repub-lite" The "I'm more liberal than you are, neener" test.
Indeed, it is sad to see people who hate Democrats while pretending to be one. But they're standing on both sides of the spectrum. I do with that those who threaten to go Green would just do so. But by the same token, I don't like the threats to leave unless we become more socially conservative either. If a portion of our Dem voters will leave unless we reject gays or somesuch, then I say "buh bye."

7. OH so now DFA isn't a Democratic organization? |
|
You guys really have to get over your hatred of Dean. Dean doesn't even have anything to do with DFA anymore. It's almost as pathetic as the Freeps blaming Clinton's penis for what's wrong with the Bush Fraudministration.

8. Sadly, that's what the DLC dustups remind me of |
|
As if some were pointing at the DLC as if it were Clinton's penis, and the root of all evil.

9. Clinton's penis hasn't voted repeatedly for the neocon/corporatist agenda. |
|
...but his wife certainly has. Along with their friends in the DLC.
So that's a major difference from the Freep paranoia or the DLC hatred of Dean. Why do you defend these people anyway? You call yourself a "Clarkie" and obviously support Kerry, and didn't the DLC use both of them to manipulate last year's election?

10. I defend anyone's right to be here |
|
and I'm calling for perspective. They're not the Great Satan. Some of the threads have bordered on the paranoid. "The DLC are Repubs in disguise has come to destroy the party" etc.
And it's up to no one here to say "DLC aren't real Democrats."
It's not a healthy, constructive discussion in some cases.

11. If willing complicity in the treasonous agenda destroying this country.... |
|
doesn't equal "The Great Satan", then what would you say DOES??
CAFTA is just another example. The bankruptcy bill, ANWR, the Iraq War authorization...on and on. They are not acting like Democrats, because they vote against the best interests of this party and this country.
That's not paranoia, it's reality.

Get involved in real world politics. Find your local party and give 'em a call. If you cannot find it (many don't have year 'round offices) call your state Dem party and ask them for contact info.
I'd wager you rlocal Dems will be very glad to see you!
