Was Michael Ledeen involved in the forged Niger documents?
Edited on Thu Jul-28-05 05:10 PM by FLDem5
I have Google set up to give me daily digests on Karl Rove articles and this one came today. I am not familiar with Bellaciao. Some help here, I don't know how legit this is.

Thanks!

KARL ROVE, MICHAEL LEDEEN SPIES PROCURED FORGED NIGER DOCUMENTS
<snip>
Karl Rove’s only full-time foreign-policy advisor is Michael Ledeen, a rabid anti-Arab, pro-Israel activist. The FBI is investigating Ledeen for procuring forged documents (shown here) on nonexistent WMD, which George Bush used to justify his war on Iraq. When Joseph Wilson exposed the farce, Rove helped "out" Wilson’s CIA wife. Did Ledeen procure the documents for Rove, and how might he have done that? The story includes multinational stool pigeon Rocco Martino, Italian spy Francesco Pazienza, wanted CIA spy Robert Seldon Lady, and Pentagon analyst Larry Franklin, who’s under charges of giving US secrets to Israel.

1. there are a lot of accounts connecting Ledeen to it
I expect the preponderance of evidence indicates yes (not from a court's point of view, though).

2. involved? he probably forged them ...
read this interview with with Vincent Cannistaro, the former CIA head of counterterrorism operations and intelligence director at the National Security Council under Ronald Reagan ...

excerpt:

Do we know who produced those documents? Because there’s some suspicion ...

I think I do, but I’d rather not speak about it right now, because I don’t think it’s a proven case ...

If I said “Michael Ledeen” ?

You’d be very close . . .
