John Bolton will be a lightning rod at the United Nations....
and will only put the failed Bush foreign policy under more of a microscope. Everything he says and does will be under severe scrutiny. A blunder by George Bush and Karl Rove. Seems to have been done to distract his political opponents at home. Dumb.

1. I think Bolton
may well be the act that causes the world to work together to destroy the dollar.

2. Yes, I have to agree with you.
But, I believe that Bolton will serve to hasten the undoing of B**.

4. I tend to agree with you...
This guy couldn't keep his nose clean if his mustache depended on it.

5. Holy heck, I hope you are wrong; but I suspect you have something
there.

Hubby is off to Prague on business in two weeks--I'm a little nervous.

:scared:

6. The UN doesn't have to accept Bolton's credentials.
It is likely that one or more General Assembly member states will challenge Bolton. In that case, he will be seated provisionally until the nine members of the Credentials Committee can vote on the question.

The members of the Credentials Committee appointed at the 59th session are:

Benin
Bhutan
China
Ghana
Liechtenstein
Russian Federation
Trinidad and Tobago
United States
Uruguay

http://www.un.org/ga/59/credent/composition.html

This could force what Bush likes to call an "up or down" vote on the issue, and a possibly Bolton's first direct conflict with Russia and China at the UN. It is unclear how the smaller states on the committee might vote.

7. If he were to be denied at the UN, it would be considered a PNAC
victory in a big way.

Could it possibly lead to secession from the UN? I almost fear the outcome of that more than Bolton's appointment (which I gravely fear already).
