United States who are afraid to say anything bad about the government to a stranger over the telephone?

I ask this because of all the strange poll numbers we see in Bushworld.

6. So glad my first response wasn't "this is a dumbass question."
I think that if you add the fraidy cats and the folks who hate * so much that their blood pressure goes up during the call that they faint and the cell phone only folks, these polls do not reflect the true mood of the country.

2. Maybe not "afraid"...
Some people purposely give false answers, not out of fear, but out of pleasure.

5. How many were afraid to vote against bush, fearing that something
bad would happen to them because of their vote?

7. There are definitely certain topics I won't discuss on the phone.
Any phone. Or in public. Or on this message board. And forget e-mail.

9. I picked "under 2%" but my opinion could be skewed because I know
a lot of Democrats who aren't afraid and more than a few far-righties who hate the government (but not Chimp...note the distinction). I think your poll would be more attuned to DU if you had asked "...bad about the current administration...)

10. You are probably right, but I hate to change the question after
people have answered it, although I did edit the first option, because someone found it offensive as originally phrased.

13. it's a matter of personality
some people are afraid to disagree with anyone. I'm not sure of the percentage, but based on canvassing I'd say there are moe than a few. It's not because they are afraid of govt spies. They just don't like to disagree. They don't want to offend. They were raised always to be nice. It may be more common among women than men, though I'm not sure about that.
