1. Ya know, I wonder the same thing
But here I am in liberal old New Haven with all my liberal friends, listening to 1300 AM radio, and stuff is happening. We don't talk to Republicans who are kind of embarrassed about their ex-governor currently in jail, but everyone is thrilled with the new governor who wears clothes from the 1970s and acts like everybody's mommy. We are really happy that we are a beacon of prochoice for the nation and the home place of Griswold v. Connecticut. I'd like to have a more global view of this but I just think that we CT Yankees have a set idea of who we are and that is that.

On balance, tho, we are not crazy and intolerance gets a lot of resistance locally. We are a just, tolerant, well educated and progressive state as a result.

I love living here.

2. So why is Lieberman so teflon?
(teflon has now been found to be toxic)

Seriously, he appears untouchable in CT from what I hear.

3. I don't know if he is
He doesn't have a good rep with lots of progressives that I know. But hey, we're a blue state and even Republicans have to be somewhat quiescent compared to some states. I love living in New Haven, a progressive small, and very diverse, city, with people who share my deepest values. We live our lives with conviction. I think that authenticity means a lot to us.
