If I were to Begin Planning for a trip to Washington DC Next Summer...
When and Where would be the best place to go. I will be 17 next summer and I have always wanted to go to DC. I would love to go for the Rally on September 24 but i just dont think it will work out.

However if I plan out well in advance for next summer I believe I will save money on flights, hotels and will have a great schedule of touring.

Any Suggestions on where/when the best time to go would be?

1. If you don't have allergies, spring is great in DC
Weather is great and the cherry blossoms are incredible when they are blooming.

2. Before you rule out DC for the Sept 24th protest - check out these sites
Both http://www.internationalanswer.org and http://www.unitedforpeace.org/ list cities across the country that have bus trips to the DC protest (or LA if it's west coast). I noticed you're from Indiana and found this on the International Answer website:

Evansville, IN
CONTACT: evansvillebus@answercoalition.org

TRANSPORTATION ORGANIZED TO:
Washington DC

I think this is going to be a massive protest gathering and we need as many folks who can come in to join the group that we can get. If you have a free weekend, I'm sure the price is reasonable for a bus trip to DC to join in the festivities. Hopefully you'll be able to make it!

3. I've Been To D.C. Five Times....
One thing I can tell you... no matter WHEN you go, be prepared for lots and lots of people. I've been there for every season EXCEPT winter, but the crowds are always HUGE!!

I've always stayed outside of D.C. and commuted in by the railway system! But then is that now safe??

I do plan on being there on September 24th, and think it's very necessary given the political climate of today. Something MUST be done!!
