Did the Dems learn a thing from Nov 2004? (Ohio)
I'm just uneasy. I haven't read a thing that indicates this special election in Ohio won't be just a repeat of Nov 2004. Long lines in Dem precincts, mis-instruction to Dem voters, security lock downs, exit polls that don't agree with results.

Anybody got any encouragement for me?

Are we ready?

1. No we haven't.
You've got every reason to be concerned. Of course, assuming we do have another debacle, we'll be told to get over it and focus on the future. Knowing all the while that we have no future so long as we don't have legitimate elections and that those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. I'm not very optimistic, but why should I be? It seems like the only people left in this country who give a damn about Democracy are on this board.

3. There will be no long lines
Turnout is expected to be 20 to 25% which is 100,000 to 125,000 voters.

I have the feeling that 60,000 votes will be enough to win today.

5. I want to be excited!
I want to think we have a formula for fixing the problems, that we are so on the ball that no one dares try any thing.

You'd think there would be some motivated prosecutor or news person, political activist that would just love to catch someone in the act.

7. Hell no. Is voting rights or open honest elections THE #1 issue?
We are fucked.
