can good come out of Bush's various messes |
|
Ever since Bush stole the election in 2004, I've found myself feeling uninspired, uninterested, and just sick and tired of hearing about the mess we're in and things getting worse with no solution in sight. Bush has f***ed us over, and long after he's gone with his pockets lined, we're are going have to deal with his mess.
Although one idea -- a hopeful one -- came to me over the past few months: the Democrats may be able to take back the house and senate in 2006. Here in PA, we have Rick Santorum being challenge by a moderate democrat. It's clear that Bush and Co. are not going anywhere soon, except maybe Crawford. (And someone said that if Bush admitted to lying about the war the American people would forgive him by saying, "At least he's honest about his dishonesty.") So I think the Democratic candidates for legislative positions, on local, state and National levels can use the Bush's negatives and try and regain, at least, the Senate. It's also a chance to get a feel for what the people want to here, and what they need. If the Democrats don't pounce on all this lying, steeling, untruthfully war-mongering and the mess they've made in Iraq, then I give up.

We all know the level of corruption and lies that the Bush administration is guilty of.
My question is: How can the Democrats use it to their advantage? I suggested that these Bush blunders might be able to get a Democrat majority in either the Senate, House of representatives, or even on more local levels.
We all know what Bush and Co. are guilty of, but does anyone have any ideas on how to turn Bush's missteps into something we -- The Democrats can use to get support. Can they use it in next years mid-term elections.
We -- Democrats -- should be pouncing on this stuff.
Any other ideas

5. I have found that we have been somewhat neutered |

Unless someone like Conyers, or Pelosi or Boxer can get enough support to launch a full scale investigation into the minutes, coingate, ethics, Rove, the war etc. we are for now, just talking to ourselves.
Trying to talk to those who have never heard of these things is like trying to convince them the sky is purple. They can't see it, never heard of it (it wasn't on the NEWS) and so figure we are just delusional. If not delusional their next argument is "all politicians are corrupt they all have done it, look at Clinton...".
I would love to see Move-On or some group start a campaign - media onslaught, toward all of congress telling them either clean up this mess or prepare to lose your jobs. Let their be NO MORE secrets from the people who hire you. I think that's the only way to make changes quickly. Otherwise the old farts with die off through attrition, which could take 1/2 a century. The bottom line is everything changes, that is certain. I would just like to see it change in my lifetime.
