anyone else tired of all the "joe-coverage" on tv
He's doing interviews with all the cable news stations non-stop for the past week or so. They all seem to want him to win. Its getting rather annoying and transparent.

1. Yes and YES!
They kiss his ass so hard and so often it's a wonder he can sit without a cushion.

2. Were you annoyed with the saturation coverage of Howard Dean?
He got more coverage than Kerry and Edwards combined. Honestly -- Edwards kicks his ass in Iowa, but who gets the front page of the NY Times and gets invited on to David Letterman? Yep, Dean -- the loser.

Could it be because the media put all their eggs in trying to get Dean elected?

25. not much at all since the primaries started
and before that all they talked about was his "kookyness" for the most part. They did stories on the win a date contest and the guy walking across the country for Kucinich, but thats about it.

12. He's on CNN almost every day
Getting face time and pleasant softball interviews. None of the other candidates get this treatment. He's been in the single digits all through this and he's treated as if he's the frontrunner.

He's currently 3rd ... ahead of both Clark and Edwards ... and moving up. good for him and his staff for managing to get the interviews.

obviously he's not giong to get the same questions they get. Plus he WAS the VP nominee last year, so I think he deserves airtime.

11. This thread is going to look pretty silly
if and when Lieberman finishes ahead of Clark, Edwards and (it goes without saying) Kucinich.

Would you have posted this if it was Dennis getting the air time?

20. i posted it because he's the only one getting
this much face time. It has nothing to do with how he's doing, it has to do that he's one out of seven candidates. They should at least attempt to be fair, because face time on these shows can be directly linked to ones support. They have a large influence on the outcome and in a perfect world would attempt to minimalize it as much as possible. I will continue to call out the media when they attempt to influence the democratic process.

40. I agree
The media push seems to work too. I was making calls to N.H. for my candidate today and spoke with many undecideds who were courting Joe. They really oughta give at least a little airtime to each candidate.

Getting a bit ahead of yourself, aren't you? The last time Lieberman ran for office, he got 50.1% of the vote ... and much more than that in his Senate run.

32. Tell that to John Rowland and Lowell Weicker
Both of them were elected and reelected to statewide office as Republicans.

The real reason that Joe Lieberman is a Democrat is because he is far too liberal on social issues and economic issues to ever be at home in today's Republican Party. That and the fact that when he was growing up, Jews weren't exactly welcome in the Republican Party.

But I think Lieberman is still quite a bit more conservative than Mr. Putmywanganywhere

39. You can think whatever you like, but is it rooted in reality?
I can't figure out why people think Lieberman is so much more "conservative" than Clinton. After all, it was Bill Clinton who rushed back to Arkansas during the 1992 primary to preside over the execution of a mentally retarded death row inmate. Bill Clinton was a strong supporter of NAFTA, and the V-Chip. And Bill Clinton, like Lieberman, hasn't wavered in his support for the Iraq war. Sure, Lieberman chastised Clinton for his affair with Lewinsky, but I wasn't aware that "liberals" condoned of Clinton's extramarital behavior. Lieberman, more than any other candidate, has sought to identify himself with Clinton's policies, which only makes sense, since they are both closely identified with the DLC.

I think a lot of people -- perhaps not you, but many others around here -- simply assume that because Lieberman is devoutly religious, he must be conservative.
