20. Hypocritical GOPer's...
...have ALWAYS been my pet peeve! Everyone might not have always agreed, for instance, with Ted Kennedy's earlier lifestyle, but you know what? Teddy NEVER went on TV and told the country that you were a lowlife if you cheated on your wife, or were and alcoholic, etc.....
These guys PREACH one thing like family values...and LIVE ANOTHER ONE.

Besides, Santorum will probably be exposed as a child molester or something someday....

Was this the same senator who brought his dead infant's corspe home so they could party over it? Or am I mixing other wing nuts in the GOP Senate up with him?

3. Society should tolerate bringing dead premies home from the Hospital
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A61804-2005Apr17.html

"Upon their son's death, Rick and Karen Santorum opted not to bring his body to a funeral home. Instead, they bundled him in a blanket and drove him to Karen's parents' home in Pittsburgh. There, they spent several hours kissing and cuddling Gabriel with his three siblings, ages 6, 4 and 1 1/2. They took photos, sang lullabies in his ear and held a private Mass. "

Strange.

30. dear god
a dead fetus in a blanket. Can you imagine what emanates from such a thing? This is the sickest thing I can think of. A dead body being wrapped in a blanket and carried around?

I am so offended. My mother, age 94, died in April 05. At the end, she was kept alive to help family members arrive in time to be with her before she died. This was a comfort to her.

This guy is the end of the world of decency, I truly beliefe.

Dear God.

79. Karen Santorum wrote a book titled Letters to Gabriel
about the experience. I cannot know what her motivation was for writing the book, and so I will not judge her. Perhaps it was helpful to her grieving process.

What DID bother me was that in the process of promoting the book, Karen Santorum was a guest on a couple of local talk shows. I listened to one of those in which RICK Santorum appeared with her, and used the opportunity to campaign for himself. I found his exploitation of his son's death for political gains distasteful to say the least.

93. I really want to know
just how did they get out of the hospital with the body? I work in medical (LPN) and can't think of any situation where the family was allowed to remove a body themselves, in the case of premmies, usually the body is incinerated with bio-hazard or is turned over to a mortuary, never just given to the family. This is one of the sickest things I've ever heard of, would they have been allowed to do the same with grandma or grandpa?

Please be more honest:

“Casey is a good guy, and although he is pro-life, he doesn't force it on anyone else!”

Despite the best efforts of some Party Bosses to keep it a secret until they have your money, I think that people deserve to know the truth about Bob Casey’s views.

1. What is your position on providing legal protection for unborn children from the moment of conception if Roe v. Wade is overturned?
Casey (D): Support.

40. but even jerry (falwell) masturbates, rick!
in the 80's, ron reagan jr had a talk show that it causes angst to think about now; it was a superb show and ron had on some excellent guests. naturally, even though ron was son of the president, he was very liberal leftwing, and his guests always included liberals, so his show was stuck away late on a weeknight. The show i'm referring to included jerry falwell; it also had 2 other guest, males (this is significant) though i cannot recall their names (one was james caan? james ferrentino?) anyway, with jerry falwell, it was a foursome. Jerry, naturally, was complaining about the state of morality, or immorality, in the nation, and referenced the rampant sex in movies, on tv, even in the schools etc. It was just typical repuke whining, when suddenly ron asked jerry 'mr falwell, do you masturbate'?
the point of this post is that jerry falwell was forced to admit he indeed masturbates, and no doubt satanorum does too, if he's honest enogh to admit it...and masturbation is technically 'outside of marriage!'
unless satanorum claims to be holier then st jerry (falwell)!

Let's have a Department of Marriage Sanctity, while we're at it.

Turn in your neighbors if you suspect them of having sex while unmarried!!!

While we're at it, might I suggest that we ban all sex not designed to produce children?

And if one of you is unable to have children, why, your marriage is null and void! Only fertile people should be allowed to wed!!!

I expect to hear you painfully confess to how bad you were the first time you slept with a woman, to whom you were newly married, because you'd never done it with anyone else. I want to hear all the details. You know, like Ashcroft gave us. If I don't hear them, I might start looking around for a jail cell for you. Society shouldn't tolerate fornicators like you.

60. t's the "They can't complain if they don't know what they're missing"
approach to marital bliss. Also known as: The Blind Leading the Blind.

I've often thought to myself what a blessing The Pill and the Sexual Revolution right along with the Women's Movement was for women who were suddenly NO LONGER expected to just put up with and endure the first lousy lover that came along all the rest of their lives. They NOW could (a) have a chance to know -- and experience -- the vast differences in, um, skill, competence and talent out there, (b) have a chance to set some standards for their partners and (c) learn a little and gain a bit of skill themselves.

I think of my mother and her generation, and all those before it with abject horror. Married to inept, inexperienced lovers who hadn't a clue ... shudder ... add to that the fact that these men were raised to think that women's sole reason for being in every OTHER category was for their exclusive benefit, so why on earth would these men even contemplate they might need to do some work perfecting their skills for their partners' sake? Not likely.

LOL -- that's probably precisely why women had to be conned and coerced into believing that they had this "conjugal duty" (carrying the weight of law in some cases) -- couldn't get all of them to the marriage bed for the sheer pleasure of it. Nosirree.

82. I would love to know what Santorum's issue really is
He has an obsession with other people's sexual behavior and sexual identity. If he doesn't have some personal sex demons I'd be surprised.

Have you talked to older women about sex? It's actually pretty amazing how many had lively enjoyable sex lifes with spouses or others -- they just considered it an impolite topic. Of course, most of the ones I've heard talking like this do so in the context of wishing they had been born in a more recent generation when they could have had a lot more fun.

48. if Bob Casey is smart, he'll use this clip repeatedly in campaign ads..
we should never forget how Santorum twisted the meaning of Harris Wofford's words to win in 1994. Why shouldn't we use Santorum's "moral judgments", on birth control and all who use it, to whip his soft oversized ass next year?

67. They're not homeschooled
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 09:32 PM by LeftyMom
They use a computer-based charter. It's in home, more to decentralize and save money for the charter operators than for any other reason. Parents don't have much responsibility and the curriculum isn't tailored to the student. Up until recently the public was paying for the charter.

That's not homeschooling, it's just a charter (scam) school that hasn't paid for premises. A homeschooling parent can buy similar software (usually with greater versatility for well under $1000/yr or even less- for a grand you usually get grading and teacher advice, manipulatives, books or other extras in addition to the software pkg) and reuse it for subsequent kids or resell it at the end of the year. These rip-off companies charge school districts $5K or more a year for software, paperwork, a teacher who drops by for less than an hour every few weeks and the use of a (crappy entry level) computer.

What are his posistions on the war and the death penalty again? Oh, he was for them you say? And what is the pope's view? Hmmmm, I think he's against them.

Interesting....so you mean old holier than thou Rick doesn't tow the Church's line on everything? So maybe, just maybe he should stop berating Catholics and other Christians who disagree on other issues?

...Just a thought

83. Guys Who Can't Get Laid Oppose Sex
I just imagine Santorum saying: I couldn't get laid before I got married, so no one else should be able to either.

Some people's claim of a high sense of sexuality morality is really the result of a lack of temptation.

This ties into the whole anti-abortion movement. If someone really wants to minimize abortion, then they should be in favor of birth control. However, too often, the anti-abortionists are really against sex.

92. Santorum Should become a Mulah in Iran
Edited on Wed Aug-03-05 01:18 PM by JPZenger
Santorum would fit right in as a mulah in Iran. He should be living in a theocracy, not a democracy. He could make pronouncements, such as "Pre-marital sex will not be tolerated. Stone her to death."

Then, like in Iran, he could review all of the proposed candidates for elected office and decide which ones were close enough to his moral viewpoints that they should be allowed to run for office.

I suggest someone photoshop an image of Santorum as an Iranian Cleric.

When Santorum went after straight people for having sex, I said "What the F***!"
