3. Schmidt refuses to leave polling place?????? WTF??????
Every single time I've voted in my life there's been a sign saying "No electioneering beyond this point" and NO CANDIDATE would be allowed within that radius.

Jean Schmidt nail files ... makes me wanna puke!

Maybe her supporters will need the files to get out of jail after they're convicted of corruption charges.

That is truly bizarre. Who the hell would think a nail file is an incentive to vote for someone?? A coupon for pizza, maybe, but a friggin nail file? Have we gone insane? People are actually voting for this lunatic??

51. Emery boards are an old political giveaway.
They are cheap. Candidates put their name on them. People look at them when they are filing their nails.

When I was a kid there was a County Commissioner here named "Squatty Lyons" and Squatty gave out emery boards at every election. We always had a stack of Squatty's files. And I've remembered his name all these years -- so I guess it works.

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade. And I'm in MD, so what does my opinion matter? In 04 I was so sure Kerry would win that I cried out of shock as much as fear & disappointment.

55. Somber Freeper predicts 5% Schmidt win and some of their analysis
"It looks like a 5% margin for Schmidt, as an early guess. She is winning the GOP strongholds in the early vote of Warren and Clemont by about 10%, winning by about 5% in Hamilton with a few votes, and was slaughtered in Brown, losing by 14%, which means she will be slaughtered in all the rural counties (which don't have many votes, except for Scioto which has more, and is the most Dem (Schmidt might lose there by 20%). This is all very early guesses.

from mydd: http://www.mydd.com/

I just went through and calculated the percentages of the total that each county represents, according to CNN's 2004 CD totals:

Adams- 4%
Brown- 7%
Clermont- 28%
Hamilton-40%
Pike-4%
Scioto-4%
Warren-13%

Hamilton-40%
Pike-4%
Scioto-4%
Warren-13%

It's three in the morning over here ,and having to wake up early , there'll be no watching ze results sip in and causing sorrow or exuberance ..

strength of nerve to all of you ....

and if he wins , the early morning won't be half bad ....or if it's very close and mrs schmidt is pissed at the voters for not being red hot for the presiden ,that might make it bearable too
