1. Kos says only Clermont is left
"Just got a call from Tim--91 precints left. Hackett down 700 votes. Only Clermont left. This is within the automatic recount margin. Gather everything you can about election irregularities."

Does anyone know if there are areas of Clermont County that might be more Dem than the main part of the County like those near or in a city?

10. That's because it's her home county, and they're holding back
to see how many they need to stuff.

Right now, they probably realize they won, but want to pad the victory to avoid recounts and save face.

56. Oh, it is?? Well, shit, thanks for telling me!
I had no idea!

And, that must also explain away why only half of their precincts have reported by almost three hours after closing, while the rest, even Hamilton, which is much, much bigger than Clermont, all have completely reported in?

12. Recount In Ohio = Zero
Doesn't sound like Hackett made it. Good try, but a loss again. Moral victories mean little to me right now, but I'll try and Rah Rah Rah that he came close.

Close counts in horseshoes & hand grenades. The repubs know plenty about the latter.

69. Look at it this way
Next year every house seat is up. If the Republican wins by two percent here in a district that is normally 70% Republican, how does that trend in a district that is normally 55% Republican. Trust me, Republican strategists won't be happy about it. Yes, a win is a win, but Rome wasn't built in a day.

19. Clermont ...
That's the "Evil One's" home base. Curious that it comes in far slower than the rest, no?

I don't know the precinct by precinct breakdown, but I highly doubt Hackett will pick up any votes there. A recount it will be.

22. When they get desperate, they make mistakes.
We have a whole Congress that's going to be desperate.

If Clermont is being held back for the reasons we think it's being held back, we'd better be ready to fight for every vote. Give up nothing and examine everything.

I think we can still pull it off. Claremont has reported 100/191, Schmidt is obviously leading in the county, BUT it's still 50-50%.....This MAY be just enough...If we win, it's not going to be by much

26. One thing to note is that all precincts aren't sized "equally"...
and usually the bigger ones come in at the end... Saw quite different sized precincts last week in San Diego Mayoral Election. Though the percentages didn't vary too much over the night (which many felt there was out of the ordinary and rather suspicious, as in the past sometimes big precincts would come in and totally change things).

Every single vote left is from a decidedly right-wing county with all other counties done for the evening.

By the time this is over, it will be at least a 4% margin of victory for the hyperbolic nazi witch.

Too bad?

I'm sorry, but Hackett has addressed issues as well as being forthcoming with his thoughts on the so-called President. Quite clearly, win or lose, he has made a monumental achievment. Also quite clearly his more abrasive remarks are a part of that.

And I haven't seen the GOP scared either.

68. Why Hackett Has the Advantage Right Now
1. The AAR report showing the "very very red" counties were the ones counted in Claremont.

2. The networks have yet to declare a winner -- if these were sure-fire counties for Schmidt they would have done it already.

3. Bob Taft

-----------------------------
However, something FISHY is going on in Cleremont county. I'm suspicious.

They have to figure out how many they need to win, and, if they can afford it, how many are needed to pad the victory to ensure no recount and save face.

It's Schmidt's home county.

Kind of a "stuffing" rain-dance.

I see that as an opportunity to catch them at something.

They got there asses kicked tonight no matter who wins before 2006.
There will surely be a recount --- A chance to catch some corrupt Ohio Re-pugs in the act.

Win or loose we have already won.

Commissioner said the "humidity" kept the vote count machines from working. :silly:

They're going to have to pile a shitload of money into nearly every race around the country.

They don't have a "Green Zone" anymore.

Automatic recount is one thing, CONTESTED ELECTION is different; in almost all states one can contest elections if one is paying for a recount. I would be very disappointed if he does not go that route.

77. From MSNBC
May send GOP a message

Political observers said a strong showing or victory by Hackett would send a powerful message to Republicans gearing up for 2006.

“If he does well, even if he loses, that could indicate that President Bush’s foreign policy may not be playing that well in a Republican district,” said John Green, director of the Ray C. Bliss Institute for Applied Politics at the University of Akron.

Hackett, a lawyer and Marine reservist who recently completed a seven-month tour in Iraq, has drawn national attention to the race with his flame-throwing assaults on Bush.

105. help
I know for a fact that there are people registered to vote in areas of Hamilton county who should not be, because they have moved, but their names have not been purged form the voter registries.

I have not made an issue of this since the cases I am aware of are dems and did not vote in more than one polling place.

OK, knowing these 2 facts it only leads me to believe that the rumors I had heard about certain republicans voting 2 or 3 times in different precincts seem all too likely.

I honestly belive this is one area of voter fraud that needs investigating.

What can I/we do in this situation?
