Is this what's going on?

ON EDIT: The responses so far are really worrisome. I'm thinking, OMG, not again.

1. Well ...

You see, there's this humidity problem in Clermont County, Schmidt's home county, and it's holding things up. Voting machines apparently don't work well in high humidity conditions. Or something ...

It's 50/50 at the moment with only Clermont outstanding.

2. i think he won
Down only 800 with 88% in. Remaining precincts in Clermont county are being counted by hand due to "voting irregularities" according to channel 19 news in Cinci.

4. Voting irregularities
my ass.

Translates to: We thought we could beat you fair and square because no Repug has lost here in 25 years, but now we have to call out some favors...

5. Local news reported
that Clermont is reporting 'voting irregularities' so they are hand counting. This is what another DUer reports.

I wouldn't go so far as saying Hackett won just that it's very close and weird things are happening in Clermont.

8. Crazy

You folks are going to drive yourselves crazy if you see fraud in every single election loss.

Someone give me a plausible reason why the Republican Party (as pathetic as they are) would actually need to fix votes in one of the most Conservative areas in the entire state?

Maybe they are counting the votes to make sure they get it right...and maybe that hand voting is being spurred on by Democratic representatives working with the election board. Maybe this is just a formality when something goes wrong.

AT LEAST they can count them by hand in that county...its not like the Black Hole of Diebold.

Hackett will not win this election and he sure wont win this county, but he was beaten fair and square...BUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTT he made is amazingly close in a VERY RED area. For that, he is a winner and the Democratic Party may actually find some gonads to go out and SPEAK the truth and not back down from any bullshit, ie, quit apologizing for comments when the freaking repukes wont' do the same.

FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE....Great job to Hackett tonight.

9. Perhaps you should pick up the current issue of Harpers
and read all about what went down, in OHIO, in 2004.

I'm not a tinfoil hatter, but a hand count at this late hour in the lady's home district?

I smell a rat and a fishy one at that

13. Right-e-o, "voting irregularities" and all.
Does no election have "irregularities" that need to be "corrected" anymore?

10. I think he did actually lose
But we won. This was a demonstration project of the netroots power. The DNC had better be taking notes.

11. Probably -- I haven't even had the heart to follow it because this is
exactly what I expected to happen.

The only question in my mind: will Hackett have the guts and savvy to fight it?
