I am sick of the Republicans. I don't want a close call, I want a win. I want the Republicans to go down hard and never come back up for a long time. As the band Gamma has said, "There's gonna be a fight to the finish. It's gonna be you or it's gonna be me." But this is it. They need to be soundly defeated. The Republican party is the enemy. They have proven their dishonor repeatedly. They attack the very veterans they presume to defend. They destroy our country. I want them to get hurt so bad in the 2006 elections that they will feel it for decades to come. 25 years of this shit is more than enough. This is the end for these motherfuckers.

1. Schmidt has to stand for reelection next year!!
Hackett can announce against her tomorrow, if he has a mind to.

14. Repukes will not vote against Repukes.
The best hope is they stay home. Which may well have happened in this election.

4. Amen to that
Guys, we Paul made history tonight. It's a turning point of a revolution, to show that Dems can be tough and still win. And I think we deserve some applause to Dean, whose 50 state plan emphasizes the things Hackett was about and will work.

"This is the end for these motherfuckers."

I prefer Tuco's philosophy from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly:

"If you're gonna shoot, shoot; don't talk."

6. If we can fight like this in every district,- make them spend every
goddamn dime the RNC has to safeguard supposed "SAFE" Repug seats then I think we'll be OK or start to be anyway

No more Congressmen running unopposed

Every Repug seat must be contested

Give people a REAL CHOICE just like Paul did

7. Sounds like what Howard Dean has talked about.
He has the right idea. We need Wes Clark in 2008.

8. Paul's near victory (and possible still victory - with a recount)
should stand out as THE shining example why we need Wes Clark in 2008.

Tough, speaks his mind AND is someone red districts can relate to.

DUH.

It's a no-brainer folks!

9. We need to drain the RNC treasury in 2006 so that 2008 starts on a level
playing field

If every Democrat unloads on every Repug Congressman that they are running against such as Paul did,and calls a spade a spade, we will once again be talking to the American people and I have faith that the American people will respond

10. Moral victories don't cut it
Mr. Hackett made a valiant run, but apparently came up a bit short. He did indeed make a good showing, especially considering where he was running, but we Democrats need to try a little bit harder. We need to keep on hammering the message home until someone listens. We have got to take our country back! If Mr. Hackett decides to challenge Schmidt again, a lot of Democrats need to pour in there and be sure of clean election and victory. And while I'm ranting, please don't forget about the first district of Iowa, where there will be a vacancy in '06 as our "representative" is running for Governor. Total victory in '06 and '08. Nothing less.

12. Hang in there, friend. Our time is coming.
"Crisis Time" is fast approaching on all fronts: Energy, Environmental, Social, Economic, Educational and Medical. The Republican Party has no answers to any of these challenges. Even their favorite ruse -- War -- has backfired upon them, and will ultimately result in the wholesale destruction of the Bush Presidency, if not the party itself.

As for the GOP's notorious lockstep coalition of corporatists, dominionist/fundamentalist "christians", neo-conservatives and libertarians, the fault lines are building more pressure than the San Andreas. Sooner or later, the GOP's "Big One" is coming. It might even erupt as soon as the 2006 midterm elections.

The Democrats and the Left need to be ready to pounce upon these bastards for their selfishness, ignorance and ineptitue WHILE presenting a comprehensive new vision that addresses and answers all of the aforementioned challenges, as they emerge as crisises.

We have so many crisises ready to blow out into the open that even the average "Red State Joe" won't find much consolation in Flush Limbaugh or Faux News for very much longer. When more of these people are out of work or buried under medical bills, and they finally wake up to see that Bush, Cheney and Co. couldn't give a damn about their lives, the Republican Party in its' present form is finished.
