Dust yourselves off!!! The battle for 06 starts now!!!!!
I probably should make this an organized rant but its not going to come out that way. It's 2:30 in the morning and my head is brewing with too many points and issues I'd like to hit in one post.

The battle for 06' is upon us. As a matter of fact, it seem the Repigs started campaigning for it about four months ago. In order to get down to it, it's time we start fighting this campaign with real ideas that help real people in their daily lives. I dont want a return to the Kerry campaign of "I can do Republican things better".

In order for this to happen, this fight needs to go to the streets as well.

1) I'm talking about organizing labor in corporations where labor really needs it. Hit those Walmarts and start dropping off Union cards. Go to any union hall you can find and start handing them out!!!

Heck, dropping a few of them in the loading dock area will be enough to get those suits creeped out. Go to any union hall and ask for a stack of them. They arent too hard to get ahold of.

2) Support and advocate for Rent control in cities in towns where rents have skyrocketed!!! We all know the story of gentrification and how poor families have really felt the pinch. We need to speak of poverty as is applys to poor people and not just the middle class.

3) Go after the right wing media and volunteer for media matters ("The Republican noise machine" is a book every democrat should know by heart). Report and harass media outlets who disemenate right wing propaganda.

It only takes 10- 20 minutes of your time to compose an email. If you have time to read and post here, you have time for it.

NO EXCUSES!!!!!

4) Start you own little chinsey newspaper and report on issues that the MSM ignores. All you need is a printer and some ink.

The web is a great resource to gather writings who post on these boards. Hand them out or leave them on the shelves in supermarkets where they keep local circulars. YOU'D BE SHOCKED AT WHAT PEOPLE READ!!!!

This is a great way to hit those red states and for those blue voices in red states to speak out. It a good way to get away from fluff and cariciture and get people focused on issues.

It's also effective in letting people know about right wing talking point disemenation that takes place in the MSM.

5)Last but not least!!! FREEWAYBLOG!!!!

I'd love to hear the ideas floating around in your heads!!!

2. I think we should hammer away on the war and
outsourcing. Keep it simple: 1. Repubs= dishonest foreign policy
2. Repubs=CAFTA=outsourcing

4. OK
So what do you want to do with SS?

Its great to address the issue. The real question is; how do we address aspects of that issue that the whacky MSM ignores?

I've always thought forgiving student loan debt is a great place to start. If Bush and the GOP wants to talk private accounts, this frees up some space in the personal budgets of our youth. It's never a good idea when students enter the workforce already in debt.

Especially in a shaky economy, where most of these kids graduating, are most like to have the field they majored in sent overseas.

It also makes it easier to pass a referendum to raise taxes on SS if need be.

I think the idea is to get the public interested in ideas that you dont here from candidates.

5. Those issues are great to work at
But they also keep us on the defensive.

How do you take them and disemenate fresh ideas from them?

Its great to be against those things, we all are. But just to be against somethings in an elections cycle keeps you fighting from your heels.

How about rent control?

What issues concern those in your area?
