A former senior aide to Bush adviser Karl Rove who reportedly gave testimony to a grand jury investigating the leaking of a CIA agent's identity answered phones and took Rove's messages, RAW STORY has discovered.

According to a 2004 Salon piece, she also had a role with one of conservative Washington's leading men, Grover Norquist, in which she took messages for Rove and called Norquist to screen callers.

"For two years, the assistant who answered Rove's phone was a woman who had previously worked for lobbyist Jack Abramoff, a close friend of Norquist's and a top DeLay fundraiser," Salon reported. "One Republican lobbyist, who asked not to be named because DeLay and Rove have the power to ruin his livelihood, said the way Rove's office worked was this: 'Susan took a message for Rove, and then called Grover to ask if she should put the caller through to Rove. If Grover didn't approve, your call didn't go through.'"

were discussing the case. When Karen Hughes'name came up, James defended her to the hilt. He said, (paraphrasing)"I can not imagine Karen being involved in anything illegal. I suppose he has gotten to know here personnally. But how could he even think that with her role in the invasion and rape of Iraq within WHIG?

and with Karen Hughes part of the same group his wife is involved in....I think that maybe he's hoping against hope that Mary isn't in any deeper than he thinks she is. Oh, the tangled web we weave.....

...call me crazy, but I've had a theory for a long time that the so-called "Nat'l Security Gag Order" on her was really to cover the trail of some more damning evidence against this administration.

I just read last night the Vanity Fair story in the Sept. issue and the revelations that Hastert may have been paid off by the Turks and the fact that the American Turkish Council (ATC) has Brent Scowcroft on its board blew my mind.

my light go off was this part in the article (on page 273):


"Another call allegedly discussed a payment to a Pentagon official who seemed to be involved in weapons-procurement negotiations.......In fact, much of what Edmonds reportedly heard seemed to concern not state espionage, but rather criminal activity. There was talk, she told investigators, of laundering the profits of large-scale drug deals and of selling classified military technologies to the highest bidder."...


Attention DUers: I believe this is the clue that is "shouting" that there is a connection between what Edmonds knows and even what Plame and Brewster Jennings was working on (weapoons procurement/black market arms and WMD trade & money laundering)and certainly even tieing it into Haliburton and others....
