El Rushbozo saying Hackett ran as a Bush supporter.
And that's why Hackett did so well.

Sometimes they lie just to demonstrate their power to get away with a lie, to irritate, and to muddy the waters.

I don't think the word "truth" means ANYTHING to the neocons.

22. We don't even Know
quote = "they know Hackett called Bush an S.O.B. and a chickenhawk."

******* ACTUALLY READ MY WHOLE POST PLEASE, THEIR IS A MESSAGE AND IF YOU FREAK OUT AT THE FIRST THING YOU DISAGREE WITH YOU WILL NOT SEE THE MESSAGE ********

yeah one or two blurbs in obscure media outlets that only the politically informed read.

Am I the only one here who does not feel full of $hit$ and Giggles about this.

Hackett never ran a SINGLE AD or issued a SINGLE Press Release that either A. expressed a any sort of Alternative Progressive Platform or B. Said anything bad about any FEDERAL Repub ideas / agendas platforms ( and that is like shooting fish in a barrel )

THIS IS NOT A VICTORY. Are we so pathetic that we are cheering about almost wins against a PATHETIC repub candidate, ( don't give me the district outnumbers of repubs to dems crap ) As I live right over across the river and in Ky Dems outnumber repubs 3 - 1 in most of the state ( higher in some regions ) and the Dems are getting pounded in fact they have lost almost EVERYTHING ( Gov, US House and senate, State Senate etc )

If a Progressive movement is going to occur we need to stop with the same old crap cliches.

Embrace a platform that everybody can agree with.

1. Pushing clean energy to the common man ( like Hud type loans anybody can get to put up solar panels etc )

2. Speaking up about the plight of the American Farmer

3. Point out some of the third world conditions children live in IN OUR OWN COUNTRY ( Parts of Appalachia anybody )

4. Free ourselves from dependence on foreign oil foodstuff and durable manufactoreing goods.

I read some of the posts here and I see is angry spiteful people spewing out tired cliches that many americans when they hear they simply tune out.

If a postive progressive platform that many can embrace is pushed instead of the gloom and doom I seem to be hearing more of or the same old attacks ( the one that always irks me is when you hear attacks on the rich. HELLO most middle class people would LOVE to be rich so why are you attacking something that many want to obtain. Heck I live in a 900 sg ft home that I can sometimes not pay that months mortgage on. I would give my left nut to be rich. Think of all the land I could buy and let become a nature reserve. You don't attack pretty people to pre-pubescent girls, WHY? because guess what I never hear a 11 year old girl who says when I grow up I don't want to look like * Fill in the blank with a pretty girls name * I want to be fat dumpy and ugly ).

We need candidates who embrace a positive alternative progressive message. People WILL embrace it. Didn't your mom ever tell you that if you ignore the bully he will get tired and move on. Well we should simply IGNORE the crap that is going on and offer an ALTERNATIVE POSITIVE message. Guess what in 1 year the right will be BEGGING for us to complain or diss or whatever because They love to make stances ( weather they keep them or not is another question ) against or for something so they can fool people into making themselves look good and when we bitch and moan some just turn away. Guess what people actually like positve messages. Lets give them one.

14. That seems to be the latest right-wing talking point
Straight off the RNC faxes:

http://redstate.org/story/2005/8/3/182749/9461

Well, Hackett did not apologize for being a Democrat because pubicly he never said he was a Democrat. Hackett criticized the President in small groups and nationally, but locally and in his ads he ran advertising making it look like he supported the President. Lastly, Hackett did not take a strong "Democratic message" into a Republican district. The only message he took was that he was an Iraq war veteran. In fact, while Hackett is vastly better looking than the Queen of the Damned look alike he ran against, at least with Schmidt it is clear from her website that she was a Republican. Hackett hid from his Democrat label.

A google word search of the Hackett site finds three links to the word "Democrat" and each occurence is from a newspaper article cited on the website. Contrast that with Schmidt. A google word search of her site comes up with fifteen links.

The Democrat delusion continues.

Don't check a fact, ever. Just believe.

16. Here's how THAT works:
"I love America."

"But that's the PRESIDENT'S POSITION!"

"I'm for jobs and safe streets."

"You are STEALING from the PRESIDENT's PLATFORM."

"Terrorism is bad."

"Stop HIDING your TRUE FEELINGS to sound more like Bush!"

"Bush can suck my steel expansion rod"

"See, you really do hate America."

19. That's the same thing she said after the election
Hackett's opponent said the same thing to Chris Matthews on Hardball last night after the election.

At the time I was wondering why she couldn't just have at least been gracious and said something like "he ran a good race, but the voters choseto support my candidacy instead."

But she accussed him of running like a Republican until he was outed as a liberal Democrat and he couldn't hide any more.

Not being familiar with what Hackett said in the early campaign, i don't know how much truth there was. But this sounds like the GOP is once again lying to bend reality.

20. This is obviously a puke
talking point in response to the threat Hackett embodies. I listened to a caller claiming to be a Democrat breathlessly bloviate and scream at Randi Rhodes about just this point yesterday. After 30 seconds, it was clear to me that the caller was freeper in Dem's sheer nightie (as in "Dem," my ass). This is the best defense they can mount against the writing on the wall. Hackett started out relatively nuetral and they claim that proves he was running as a puke. Not convincing, even to themselves, or they wouldn't be screaming so loud and trying to drown out any other view.

25. Probably has to do with this article:
OK, Hackett's a veteran - and ... ?

By Peter Bronson
Enquirer staff writer

IraqWarveteranPaulHackett.

That's not a typo. It's "Iraq War veteran Paul Hackett." But in the campaign for Congress leading up to Tuesday's special election, it was usually one word - like "VietnamWarheroJohnKerry."

I think there was a contest to see how many times "IraqWarveteranPaulHackett" could be shoehorned into ads and media coverage - leaving no room for "Democrat Paul Hackett who called President Bush an S.O.B. and wants to pull out of Iraq."

His ads showed President Bush, then IWVPH with his family.
