If (God Forbid) Clark loses... |
|
Do you think he will accept VP? Of course he had to say he absolutely wouldn't on TV or else he would be dismissed right away as only a VP candidate.
Do you think he would leave politics? When does the next Republican Senate seat open up in Arkansas?
I hope, hope, hope he doesn't leave politics. He is such an assett to the the party even if he loses the primaries.
He would make a great Secretary of Defense too, huh?
I'm afriad, though, that his ego will keep him for running for any other office that President.

What is all this wailing?
It's far from over, & I'm with Wes till the end, wherever that is.

2. I consider such possible scenarios when after the convention. |

Until then, I consider myself part of a winning team :)

In fact if Clark doesn't get the nomination I'm not going to work for the candidate. I'll vote for them, but I won't work for them. (Unless he's the Veep.)
I just hope that he doesn't leave politics IF things turn out bad.... his poll numbers are pretty low right now, you have to admit.

This is just NH. It's only one primary. Feb. 3rd promises a few victories:
Delaware presidential primary - Likely Kerry or Dean So. Carolina Democratic presidential primary - Clark will place no less than third, possibly even 1st or 2nd Missouri presidential primary - If Clark gets Gep's support, look for another strong 2nd or 3rd. Arizona presidential primary - CLARK Oklahoma presidential primary - CLARK New Mexico Democratic caucuses - possibly CLARK or Dean North Dakota Democratic caucuses - not sure.
We've got a few bright spots, there. Not to mention, we've got Wisconsin on the 17th, which I think will also, surprisingly go Clark's way.

19. Nationally, he's at 47% vs. Bush 48% |
|
(Kerry was 49 to bush 46)
Not bad for a guy most people haven't heard speak yet.
It's not over, not by a long shot. 3rd or 4th in New Hampshire followed by FIRSTS in OK, NM and others, and he's on his way to the White House!

I'd want it to be for Dean. 2 outsiders who are'nt afraid to take it to Bush and hit him where it hurts, imho.

I think he should run for the Senate and challenge a Republican incumbent. We need someone. We're going to get it pretty bad in the Senate this election, with half of our Senators dropping out to run for President. Maybe he should buy an estate in Florida!

6. I think he would be a great Secretary of State, replacing Colin Powell... |
|
in the next Democratic Administration. However, I don't think anyone is ready to write off the General's chances, just yet. If he finishes 3rd in NH, ahead of Lieberman and Edwards, that will be a victory for him and a good springboard for the upcoming primaries.

If a Dem wins, he's got a shot at the cabinet. If not, he's in the same position as he was before, but with more name recognition.
It's not just ego. Someone who has accomplished a lot in life, especially in a position of leadership or executive office like a Govenor, just isn't the right person for VP. It would be suffocating for them, and uncomfortable for the President.

9. I'm hoping that he would.... |

Because I still believe the Dean/Clark ticket would send a message to the Republicans, the media whores, the DLC, and the voters that this ain't gonna be "corporate politics as usual".
If the General still opted out of the VP slot, I would say he would almost assuredly get a cabinet appointment, either Defense or State.

11. Secretary of Defense sounds good to me. |
|
I hope none of these boys pick up their balls and go home. And, since I like what CMB had to say about healthcare, I hope she gets appointed to remake that mess into something economical and sensible.
I would also like them taking part in the administration to show that we stand united against evil. While some individuals may be upright souls, what the Republicans have done to our economy and every other damn thing we need to live is plain flat out evil.

However, the Republican Governor is up for re-election in 2006 (although he may be term-limited).

not respond, so as not to kick this "gloom and doom" meme you're trying to spread back up to the top...
And part of me wants to rip that Clark avatar right off your post because Clark is a man of integrity, and you dishonor him with the game you're playing here...
And part of me wants to just say "Fuck You" and take the hit from the mods...
What's a gal to do? Oh, well. I'm sure I'll decide real soon now.
