Some info about Kerry that you need to know...

Washington Wire

Cookie crisis could have Kerry in a jam

Sen. John F. Kerry, who is facing questions about his housing deals, now has a new problem to deal with: a cookie scandal.

The Weld campaign has uncovered a 1989 book by David Liederman, founder of David's Cookies, in which Liederman accuses Kerry of ripping off his cookie-store concept. Kerry briefly owned a Quincy Market cookie business in the early 1980s.

When Liederman found out Kerry's store had duplicated his design motif and even cookie recipe, he called Kerry, who was then a private lawyer and struggling businessman.

"I told him he had stolen my idea and he replied, `You're absolutely right. I am a politician. I shouldn't be in the cookie business, so let me sell you my store."' Liederman said he declined the offer because he found out Kerry was operating his cookie business in violation of his lease.

Kerry takes money from a drug dealer

http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/bostonherald/access/17310335.html?FMT=FT&FMTS=FT&PMID=&desc=Pols+%26+Politics

U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry failed to predict that some Florida businessmen who contributed to his campaign coffers would be indicted on drug charges two years later.

"Undie-gate"

http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/bostonherald/access/17256986.html?FMT=FT&FMTS=FT&PMID=&desc=POLS+%26+POLITICS

Where are they now?

Before becoming the richest member of Congress, U.S. Sen. John Forbes Kerry-Heinz used to pal around with one of the sleaziest S&L banditos of the '80s - David Paul of Florida's CenTrust.

Kerry and Paul were this close - almost as tight as the Clintons and the McDougals of Madison Guaranty Savings & Loan infamy.

Well, the '90s haven't been a happy decade for Kerry's crony. In 1993, he was sentenced to 11 years in prison and fined $65 million.

Ooooh, so much dirt on Kerry, the RNC is salivating on these kind of shit. (and I've got more on my research files.. this is just the creme of a very large cake..)

1. Your link doesn't work
and Kerry defeated Weld soundly.
If * brings up Kerry's past, then it means bringing up *'s past.
That should be lots of fun, IMHO.

32. Why do people think that the media will play fair?
They won't. It doesn't matter if the story is true or if there is worse stuff on bush*. The media will run with any half truth or lie it can fabricate to smear the Democratic nominee.

Because of that, it doesn't matter what has happened in the past with any of our candidates. What does matter is who will do the best job of bringing the fight over to repub ground. Personally, I think that would be Dean. He's shown he knows how to fight and doesn't give up. If you think your candidate is able to take the fight to bush* then I say support him. If you like your guy because of his stance on IWR or because of his military status, just know that isn't enough. We need a fighter. Someone who will honestly go for the jugular. Good luck to all the candidates, and may the best fighter win.

4. Nope. These are facts
and they have been published in Kerry's hometown, but buried in the archives.

No spin involved. You say we whine about dirty tactics -- here's more evidence of Kerry's dirty campaigning tactics.

These "dirty tricks" by Kerry are disgraceful. Didn't we have enough of this cheating crap from *bush and company?

24. WOW. Now we NEED to know what's in Dean's files, so we aren't surprised.
I rEALLY think we need to know every move.

Especially his deal with the Koch brothers. The BFEE loyalist Koch brothers.

Wouldn't you agree, HawkeyeX that we need to know so there are no surprises later? This deal with the Koch brothers was HUGE.

5. You have any details on Dean's deal with the BFEE Koch brothers?
You know, the ones he sold Vermont Yankee to after spending most of his governorship pushing deregulation of electricity.

The BFEE Koch brothers who do dirty work for the Bush family.

12. unfortunately for Dean
if he ends up not getting the nomination, he's going to be remembered, by me at least, and I'm sure a lot of other DUers, for this wave of scraping the bottom of the barrel of Kerry smears.

I really wish more people with Dean avatars would join all of us in denouncing this crap. I did it with all the Dean smears I saw, and so did a lot of other non-Dean-supporters.

19. Pretty potent stuff
...not. Kerry's been battle tested with all this crap over the years. His relationship with the media in Boston has never been great. He can take a punch without loosing his cool. The '96 race with the very popular Weld was a classic and he beat him handily when many thought he was toast. Kerry has been scrutinized to death and is ready for the Big Time.

20. Has Kerry ever been convicted of possession of cocaine
Edited on Mon Jan-26-04 06:28 PM by Gman
and did community service in inner city Houston?

Has Kerry ever lied about getting a DWI?

Has Kerry ever disappeared for days in Mexico while on a drunken binge?

Has Kerry ever raped an underage female then had her killed after she filed a lawsuit?

Has Kerry ever beat his wife while his infant twins were watching while he was on a drunken binge?

Was Kerry ever a deserter?

Did Kerry ever engage in insider trading then fail to file the proper forms until months later?

And when he did the insider trading did he sell the would-be worthless stock to Harvard because of his connections there?

And all this is without even thinking hard about it. I don't think the GOP wants to try to bring up any would-be dirty laundry in November.

---------------

Did Kerry ever bald-faced lie about WMD's to the American people?

Did Kerry ever start a war so that Unical could build a pipeline through Afghanistan?

Did Kerry ever start a war anywhere so that Halliburton could make enough money off the wars to keep from being bankrupt because of asbestos lawsuits?

I for one am salivating at the possibilities of all this becoming an issue in November.

----------------

Did Kerry ever have the city of Arlington, Texas condemn all the land around a stadium that he wanted built and the city pays the owners pennies on the dollar for the land?
