And I was just thinking how right Novak was |
|
when he said - a few minutes before he walked off the CNN set - that it was "none of their business." They, meaning Congress and the "business" was steroid use by athletes.
Yes, none of their business what consenting adults do in the privacy of their homes; none of their business what people discuss with their doctors in the privacy of the doctor's office; none of their business what medication a licensed doctor prescribes to a patient..
But he walked and, apparently, is not going to come back.

1. This goes for Rush too. |

I'm serious. Please understand that I think Rushhhh is a dangerous, lying windbag. And that's being kind.
But to subpoena his private medical records is indefensible. He's vulnerable on so many other fronts anyway.

2. Interesting, but . . . |
|
how else to prove the crime of doctor-shopping? Since possession of Oxycontin is legal with a prescription, the crime is in going to many doctors to get many prescriptions.
The subpoena for the medical records is limited to that particular issue, and the judge reviewed all the records and only released those directly related to the charge. Anything beyond that scope was returned to Limbaugh. But since feeding an illegal addiction is not legitimate medical treatment, any request to an MD for a prescription would not be protected by physician privilege, IMHO.
