1. McCain? Please.

Why would Clark run on this ticket?

You can have Biden if you want.

2. Not likely.
I'd go third party. Now, Clark-McCain, then yes.

3. You must mean the DLC, right?
The DNC isn't joining forces with Pukes. And there's not going to be a Mc-Cain/Clark ticket. Nor a Mc-Cain/Biden ticket.

7. A McCain-Anybody ticket is too disturbing to contemplate.
I don't see McCain as a true Republican in the non-Neocon sense. I think he's just a groveler and an opportunist.

At what price did he decline to become a sworn enemy of George Bush--as anyone with a shred of self respect would have become, after being slimed the way McCain was in the 2000 primaries?

10.  You may be right that he's being
blackmailed, but then that brings up the question..what would he be blackmailed about? Must be something he really wants hidden.

13. In Bushworld/Roveworld that's always a distinct possibility.
If true, McCain is damaged goods. So, either way you look at it, he's a loser.

or Frist or some Neocon. The environment is crumbling around us and at least McCain is good on the environment.

It's my impression that McCain is ambitious beyond all else. He want's to be president. That's why he's done the things he has. He really isn't as conservative as the alternatives could be. I could live with McCain and Clark. I could not live with Jeb and Frist.

11. McCain?
I doubt if McCain would even run with a Democrat! He's too much of a party loyalist to run with anyone other than a Republican. If you recall, there was some talk last year that Kerry might consider asking him to run with him and McCain refused.

I just don't see it happening. Although, if he did, I think it would be a winning ticket!

I would vote for them if McCain was running for VP but not for President. He's too much of an ass kisser for me.........although I would vote for it if it was Edwards-McCain or Clark-McCain.

12. that could get rather strange
Suppose you had the following 3 tickets or something similar:

1. McCain/Clark
2. Clinton/Boxer
3. Robertson/Ledeen (NFI wtf neocons would run)

How confused do you think people would be? How badly would the vote get split? It could mean trouble.

15. McCain is hardly a "true-Republican"
Five years ago, I would've said otherwise, but recently he's seemed rather... I don't know...whorish

I'd vote for a Clark/Snowe ticket, a Clark/Chafee ticket, Clark/Collins, maybe you could throw in Ron Paul. Otherwise there ain't many Republicans who are politically attractive to me.

16. McCain's civil rights record is unacceptable
On a scale of 0-100:

0 from planned parenthood.
from 0 to 22 from the ACLU, depending on the year
25 from HRC
0 from the Arab American Institute
15 from the NAACP
90 JOHN BIRCH SOCIETY! WTF?!
83 Christian Coalition
7 PTA
13 Peace Action
33 Various Unions

various ratings from votesmart: http://www.vote-smart.org/issue_rating_category.php?can_id=S0061103

If I ever become a married white Christian straight male with a lot of children in private religious schools in a nonunion job, perhaps I'll reconsider.

17. OK. Clark-McCain ticket.
What about an equal candidacy?

Both bring very American values to the equation.

Granted, Johnny M has certainly sucked his fair share of the republican hooka.

However, I think he is moving back to his own values of a true Conservative.

I think maybe he tried the KoolAid and decided he didn't care for the acidic flavor and bitter aftertaste.

Hillary as Secretary of State.

Then Hillary in '16.

I wouldn't even vote for a Clark-McCain ticket. I'd leave the fuckin' country first...

There are better places to live. I'm still fighting here because I always have but if the corporate capitalist empire keeps getting more intrenched...viva la revolucion del sur...

25. McCain & Bush have same agenda - different strategies.
The Bush Strategy is to whore for corporations by gaining and keeping power by the energizing social conservatives by handing over the national agenda to them, meanwhile using corporate influence to make America more "conservative."

The McCain Strategy is to whore for corporations by gaining power by appealing to a middle road while throwing the social conservatives a bone now and then behind his back so the stupid national press won't catch it when they look up from writing their puff pieces to America on how much of a moderate maverick McCain is.
