Mike Barnicle on Imus-What a Rant!
Edited on Fri Aug-05-05 07:15 AM by livvy
Did anyone just hear him on Imus? He gave a most excellent rant on Iraq and the lack of compassion on the part of this mis administration. He said people needed to be exposed to the number of dead, that this is a war. He went on and on about the nitwit and his extended vacation, asking why he doesn't have time to go to the funerals of the war dead. He was practically screaming into the phone. It was the quietest I've ever heard Imus with a guest.

1. Imus was definitely stunned into reflection. I hope he takes up
Barnicle's challenge: to confront every Senator, Congressman, or member of the media who's on the Imus show to tell us what this war is about - what is the plan.

If Imus does that, it really would put this thing is the face of the comfortable, well-fed, profligates who aren't losing their kids in this "war".

Barnicle's rant about the Transportation boondoggle at the same time these soldiers who were blown up in a TWENTY YEAR OLD inadequately armed vehicle was profound.

If the media would just ask a FEW questions.
Finally.

2. Agree.
Imus has a diverse audience, but I suspect a larger majority of conservatives tune in than others. He does have a wide range of guests, so if he did start asking, it would be very helpful. Once he latches on to something, he sticks to it.
Ooh...Gregory's on...let's see what he has to say.

6. Disgusting, isn't it?
This is sooooo not right. It is inexcusable to send our troops out without the protection that they need. Congress has approved tons of money. There is no excuse.

5. Wasn't that great !
Most excellent was the comment that Bush has gone to at least as many fundraisers as there have been troop funerals. Nor does the President understand what "sacrifice" means.

Barnicle really slammed Bush's cheerleaders, Hannity and Limbaugh, good too!

7. I've never heard him like that before.
He's talked about all kinds of stuff on previous appearances, but he usually is pretty laid back. I have never heard him angry like this. Now, if we can just get more people pissed off, maybe we can get these troops home where they belong.
The tide is turning, it's just not turning fast enough for me.

11. Conserving compassion,
the GOP leaders pretend to actually BE compassionate. What they really do is save up the concept of compassion in case they ever need to request it of others for themselves. Too busy right now I guess.

12. I didn't hear all of it
But what I did hear was excellent. More people have to tell the moron in the White House he's totally $#$%$%$ up the war. Sorry, I thought I was Bob Novak for a minute.
