1. He should be looking at Missouri, SC, and Oklahoma. |
|
Those are his best bets; I think he may be leading in Missouri, he's in second in Oklahoma, and has a slight lead in SC. If he does well in NH (beats Clark & Lieberman) I think he'll take first place in all these states. Although Kerry could give him trouble in South Carolina if he takes first in NH by a good margin.
It also depends on the other states. If Kerry sweeps the rest, then it doesn't mean much that Edwards won the other three. In that case, Edwards would have to parlay those into a victory on Super Tuesday and hope that Kerry messes up during February.
If the other states are divided, and these three go to Edwards, he could do very well on Super Tuesday.

2. Any guesses right now wouldn't be worth the paper they're not printed on |
|
Right now his best shots appear to be South Carolina, Oklahoma, Arizona and possibly Missouri. But there's no way to gauge what kind of impact the results of tomorrow's NH primary is going to have.

3. I think his southern appeal is a bit overrated |
|
He has only been in the senate for 4 years and I'm not sure he's that much more well known there than the other candidates. I would have preferred if he had served another term before running. On the other hand he seems to wear very well on the voters. The more they see him the more they like him. However with the primaries coming fast and furious after NH he won't have much time in these states to make the same connection that he has in IA and NH.

9. Just to be precise, this is his 6th year in the Senate (elected in 1998). |
|
But I agree with you that he does not yet have the recognition the other candidates have and the better known he is, the better liked, for most people.
