Kucinich to discuss loss of 20 Ohio Marines on ABC on Sunday
Dennis will appear on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" on Sunday.

Dennis will discuss the tragic loss of 20 Marines from a Marine Battalion based in his district in Brook Park, Ohio who were killed in Iraq this week. Also on the show will be Jim Boskovitch and Rosemary Palmer, each of whom lost a son in the attacks.

"This Week" can be seen on your local ABC affiliate. Please check your local listings for time and channel.

War Hits N.E. Ohio Hard

In the past two days we have received word that 20 soldiers connected with the 3rd Batallion, 25th Marines based in my district have died in combat in Iraq. This is an immense tragedy. Our hearts go out to the families of the soldiers as well as to all of the reservists who serve from the Brook Park unit. This is a time for us all to come together in support of those who have lost loved ones.

I will be contacting family members and working with local officials to plan a memorial. I want to thank each and every person who has contacted me indicating concern.

4. How sad.
How ironic. If Ohio had gone for Kerry, we might have a more rational management of our military in Iraq by now and at least the beginnings of an exit strategy and an airing of the errors and wrongs committed by those who took us in there. Maybe these deaths would not have happened.

What a price we pay for folly. How sad. I really feel like crying for the parents of these young people. My prayers are with them.

12. peace activist says Kucinich "predestined" to be next president of U.S.
http://www.cleveland.com/search/index.ssf?/base/opinion/1123320948154540.xml?oxins&coll=2

California peace activist David Crockett Williams ( http://www.angelfire.com/on/GEAR2000/dwilliams.html ) predicts that Dennis Kucinich will be the next president of the United States. He says so in an Internet users group, and in an e-mail exchange with this reporter he added that a Kucinich presidency "is predestined." The Democratic congressman from Cleveland's West Side has announced no plans to run. He is promoting his re-election to the U.S. House next year. Yet Kucinich gained popularity among some liberals, particularly on the West Coast, when he ran in the 2004 Democratic presidential primary, and that could make another foray tempting. Listen to his spokesman's language and you won't hear the word "no." "He is concentrating on his work in the House, and with the week that we have had in Ohio, politics is the furthest thing from his mind," says Doug Gordon. He adds that while Kucinich "has lots of enthusuiastic supporters around the country," Williams "does not speak for the congressman or the congressman's thinking."

(I guess the Plain Dealer printed this to remind people that supposedly Kucinich is the favorite of 'way-out granola-eating hippie-dippie New age California peace creeps' before they read the second half of the column where they give Kucinich credit for getting the federal money to rebuild a highway interchange used by the Plain Dealer, and they at the same time cover their own ass against people who will say they are in cahoots with Kucinich, which is pretty funny because they constantly trash him.)

19. Hey
I resemble that! ;-)

I met David Crockett Williams in '04; he lives about 50 miles north of where I lived at that time. He definitely fits the "way-out" description, but I liked him anyway. He's definitely "active." It's time to take the opposition's convenient, denigrating labels off of our granola-eating new age peaceniks, and allow them to be "peace activists;" a more respectful, powerful label.

15. Ran into DK at a function the other night here in Brook Park
He was distracted, angry and not his usually upbeat self....

Hadn't seen him like this in years....

Not since we shared a hospital room with a man who just found out he was riddled with Cancer....

A mutual friend....

One day after he won his seat and I lost my bid for the State Senate....

We sat and talked with This guy for over two and half hours....

When he should have been celbrating....

Tell you what kind of guy DK really is....

21. wow. that was really positive by the sound of it.. at least in terms of
not rah-rahing the war. (Of course I knew Dennis wouldn't rahrah it, but the fact that the parents they spoke with weren't like that speaks volumes.)

16. anyone notice that at beginning of show, when they're previewing what's
going to be on the various segments, they showed the 2 parents of dead Ohio(Kucinich district)Marines, but they did not show Kucinich,or say that he would be on? It seems to me that,on all of these shows,at the beginning, they announce what 'elected' officials,OF OURS,that will appear on the show.George Stephanopolous, his show, and ABC seem to have made an exception in the case of United States Representative Dennis J. Kucinich, who, undoubtedly,if you look at the record,is unquestionably an ELECTED official in the United States of America, unlike the "President" and many others.
