Falling, Falling, Falling… Bush in the Polls
A new Newsweek poll shows that Bush’s approval rating is falling, falling, falling…

61 percent of Americans polled say they disapprove of the way President George W. Bush is handling the war in Iraq, according to a new NEWSWEEK poll.

Thirty four percent say they approve.

This is Bush’s lowest rating on Iraq and the first time it has dropped below 40 percent in the NEWSWEEK poll.

And 50 percent of those polled say the United States is losing ground in its efforts to establish security and democracy in Iraq; just 40 percent say the U.S. is making progress there.

Bush’s approval ratings have dropped to 42 percent; 51 percent of Americans say they disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job as president.

2. calling for withdrawal
it seems these polls very rarely ask whether US citizens support immediate or near-term withdrawal ...

i wonder where Americans stand on the withdrawal issue ...

5. The controlled media and polls
The topics and questions in polls are very restricted. You have hit on something with your thoughts on withdrawal. The impeachment question never gets asked although it might well be the biggest insight into political awareness of the population.

I will ask all of DU, if anyone has heard of any serious poll on the question of legalizing laughing grass in 2004 or 2005. I have asked publicly before on cannabis forums and got no reply. I do not think there are any and I speculate that the majority of Americans are for legalization and that fact must be suppressed.

You never hear of polls asking things like "Should depleted uranium be used in Iraq?" or "Do you think fluoride should be removed from public water?" or "Do you think the military budget should be increased?" Anything that survives by silence that the PTB want, is not going to be ask in any poll by the controlled media. A prime example would be "Do you think the government should do more to restrict mercury emissions in the manufacturing of chlorine?" Another example that would be more clear is, "Do you feel that the use of MTBE over ethyl alcohol as an oxygenator in gasoline was a catastrophe for the environment?"

8. At this point, what are his options?
I can guarantee you, this question is being asked in Washington, also.

Again, I feel that the Fanatical Fool misjudged the American people. He thought Amerivans would rally to support a "Fledgling democracy in Iraq", while the economy was being mismanaged at home.

He thought he could stand up there and use the carrot-and-stick approach to the Middle East: by thrilling everybody about spreading "freedom", equal rights, job opportunities, building up Iraq etc etc, but also threatening Americans about more terrorism, we're fighting them there so we won't have to do it here, we're winning, terrorism is on the rise, Al Qaida is out to get you, etc etc blab blab.

I believe something on the order of 3 million jobs have been lost since Bush marched into the White House, heavily armed.

There is really nothing more Bush can do to the economy. The coffers are empty. Jobs continue to be lost. Gas prices are moving upward, everything is going up except wages.

He's played every card he's got ------

and now he's got 2 2's and 2 Jokers.
