Cindy Sheehan: "If he does care, why doesn't he come out and talk to me?"

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/08/06/national/main763672.shtml?CMP=OTC-RSSFeed&source=RSS&attr=HOME_763672

Supported by more than 50 demonstrators who chanted, “W. killed her son!” Cindy Sheehan told reporters: “I want to ask the president, 'Why did you kill my son? What did my son die for?”' Sheehan, 48, didn't get to see Bush, but did talk about 45 minutes with national security adviser Steve Hadley and deputy White House chief of staff Joe Hagin, who went out to hear her concerns.

Appreciative of their attention, yet undaunted, Sheehan said she planned to continue her roadside vigil, except for a few breaks, until she gets to talk to Bush. Her son, Casey, 24, was killed in Sadr City, Iraq, on April 4, 2004. He was an Army specialist, a Humvee mechanic.

“They (the advisers) said we are in Iraq because they believed Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, that the world's a better place with Saddam gone and that we're making the world a safer place with what we're doing over there,” Sheehan said in a telephone interview after the meeting.

She said Hagin told her, “I want to assure you that he (Bush) really does care. And I said if he does care, why doesn't he come out and talk to me.”

2. Bush doesn't meet with grieving mothers
But he does meet with well-heeled round heels like Mary Carey. What does that tell you? And what does it tell you about the media that they can't make even that simple point when reporting on Cindy Sheehan?

4. It tells me more than I wanted to know. It tells me that truth no longer
matters.

NGU, Cindy--we are listening.

7. BTW, he didn't meet with Mary Carey. She was in the audience at the
fundraiser. She could have had her picture taken, but didn't want to spend the money on it.

12. That they are bought and paid for?
But we knew that already. Thanks for pointing that out, though. Our "leadership" is far too refined to mention such a thing. They've learned nothing from Hackett, or even from Truman. Tell the truth and they'll think it's hell, indeed.

10. That was Sue Niederer.
Grieving Mom Heckles Laura Bush

HAMILTON, N.J., Sept. 17, 2004

(CBS/AP) A woman wearing a T-shirt with the words "President Bush You Killed My Son" and a picture of a soldier killed in Iraq was detained Thursday after she interrupted a campaign speech by first lady Laura Bush.

Police escorted Sue Niederer of Hopewell, N.J., from a rally at a firehouse after she demanded to know why her son, Army 1st Lt. Seth Dvorin, 24, was killed in Iraq. Dvorin died in February while trying to disarm a bomb.

As shouts of "Four More Years" subsided, Niederer, standing in the middle of a crowd of some 700, continued to shout about the killing of her son.

When Bush mentioned the troops abroad, Niederer shouted, "When are yours going to serve?" referring to Bush's 22-year-old twin daughters, who aren't in the armed services.

Niederer, center, is removed from a rally, after yelling at first lady Laura Bush, who was appearing at the campaign event for President Bush, in Hamilton Township, N.J., Sept. 16, 2004. In portions of an interview posted online in May on the Web site Counterpunch.org, Niederer said she wanted to "rip the president's head off" and "shoot him in the groined area." 14. Did I read the article correctly?
Her interuption caused a "4 MORE YEARS!" chant intended to drown her out?

Who the hell are these people? If they took up a collection, could they gather one clue - just one?

17. Thanks guys !
Sue needs to get down to Crawford, doesn't she :) I have a feeling Cindy's going to be hauled away shortly if she doesn't leave. Hopefully more support is arriving every hour because the press is loving it. Gives them something to do while in no man's land.

These poor moms, my heart just breaks for them.

9. Because he is a souless gutless coward.
And that is what the rest of the world is seeing now. Remember he said he doesn't have to answer to anyone, just like the good little dictator he is. He is void of any consious, spine or brain. What more would you expect from someone who needs to have the kind of entourage he has when being in public. I bet he is even afraid of his own shaddow. If that was my son, I hang my head in shame.

He can't come out and talk to her, he's too busy clearing brush off the property. Hasn't he come to the conclusion that there are some things that you can hire out?
