Clark supporters...want to light a candle of hope and support
tomorrow for our guy? I saw a Clark blogger post that she was going to light a candle for him and thought it was a wonderful idea. I'm going to light one to give ME hope and HIM support.

So? Whatcha think? Candles! candles! we all have candles!

Go Wes!

I've been bumming out the past hour or so...First day back at school, 10 hour day, pissed off about the primaries. I just lit a candle for Wes, and will work on getting calm and positive now.

ps- for anyone who didn't know, we made the goal on the train!

22. Hey Baby!
Girl, I have been pissed off all day too! I had to work my usual 8 hrs, (nine if you count working through my damned lunch), then rush home because my son locked his sorry ass out of the house again. Then I had to rush to the other end of town for class, and I missed my turn and got freakin' lost in boonieville. Then to top it off, I missed my turn coming home and got lost again!

But the polls are not pissing me off at all. I heard a blip on one of the news radio stations that NH voters are the hardest to predict, so there is hope that the trends of Clark and Dean stablizing and the others going down will continue through tommorrow.

So light your candle, grab a brewski and sit back. Gert said we aren't stopping now, and the money train is in the station. It's just one state, girlie-girl... and that bump Kerry got in NH turned out to be little more than speed bump for Dean... no trampoline... just a stair-master!

30. I'm picturing you from your post
Reading, typing, smoking and scratching like a fiend! :-)

I'm as nervous as a canary at a cat convention myself!

But it's a good energy....I swear! I have good feelings about tomorrow and I'll tell you why.

It's nothing to do with polls or pundits. Or having the best candidate. (Which we do.) It's based on the simple principle of "You know you're going to lose if Midwestmomma starts feeling sorry for you." How it works is like this...I knew things were going to go badly for Dean in Iowa because I went from not liking him very much to feeling sorry for him. As soon as that happened I knew things were not going to go well for him because I always feel sorry for the underdog. It's just a gift I have. :D

The good news is, I'm not feeling sorry for Clark. No siree. No underdog-like feelings at all. So I figure that means he is going to do fine in tomorrows primary. How do you like that logic?

So that's my psychic candle for Clark. Now I think I'll go light one of those cigarette candles myself. :smoke:

50. Lighting another candle today
Todays candle is a mariners candle in honor of the people of New Hampshire and it carries a prayer that President Kennedy kept on his desk.

Lord, be good to me
The sea is so wide
And my boat so small

It's also fitting since this is our real beginning. Remember how Clark described trying to kick off his campaign? He said it was like heading off on a trans Atlantic crossing and building your boat along the way..........

A prayer for safety and God's good grace at the beginning of our journey.:grouphug:

but it's too late now. This team is a mess, as usual, and I'm far past the point of believing any single player is going to make that much of a difference anymore.

I'm starting to think we are cursed again. This time for winning the damn thing.

That said, he had a good game in his garden debut. He certainly won't hurt the team, but it's no playoff guarantee.

Been a Pens fan my whole life; grew up watching Jagr and Lemieux play together. Despite others disliking him, I've always been fond of Jagr's skills and hated it when he went to the Caps. I should probably change team alliances; the Rangers have Kovalev too. The Pens are absolutely horrible; so don't feel too bad about the Rangers. :hi:

62. I honestly don't understand why Clark and Edwards aren't surging..
I am a Dean supporter.. But.. I have no clue why Clark and Edwards aren't surging. They are both great candidates with lots to say, and great experience. I suppose in such a crowded field of good candidates, someone has to rise to the top.. some have to be in the middle, etc. We Democrats have an embarrassment of riches this primary season. I keep telling myself that Iowa and New Hampshire are only two states.. given tons of attention because they are first.. not necessarily because they are more insightful, more important, or have the most delegates. I don't mean that to degrade those states.. I have relatives in Iowa. But rather, do not despair if your candidate does not do well in those states.. we have 48 more.

Best of luck today! :grouphug:

The media has bashed Clark for the last 2 weeks. I'm not surprised he's not surging in the "polls"...MY hope lies in the NH voters, not the RW pundits.

I just now saw the media start in on Edwards. He's not trusted because he's a trial attorney. They said they have heard complaints that his speeches are too rehearsed. One man they interviewed said Edwards gave a good speech, but he could tell it was all just a memorized stump speech. Whoever comes out in first tonight, hang on! You're next.

75. You guys shouldn't let all of the media negativism get you down
I am sick and tired of the TV pundits saying that Clark is finished! These are the same assholes that were saying a week ago that Dean was finished.

NH is an oddity, not as much as Iowa but an oddity nevertheless.

The true measure of Wes Clark's strength will come on Super Tuesday.

If it is any consolation, some of our greatest Presidents would have never gotten elected today because of the shallow criteria that voters use when voting.

77. About Scoopie's post (#37).....
(oops...did I hit a wrong key?)

It looks like early on, the first precincts (which were more conservative districts) were reporting votes favoring Clark.

I've been feeling, of late, that Clark is the candidate that can unite the whole country agaist bush...but I'm not sure the most active Dems (who really get out and vote in the primaries) will vote for him, as they tend to be more progressive/activist.

What a dilemma: The guy the MOST Americans could vote for, may not be the one the PARTY chooses.

I know, I know...it's not over: it's just Iowa and New Hampshire. But I think the early showing for Clark in the more independent/conservative areas in the New Hampshire DEM primary, are an important SHOUT as to who may be the one who could take the general election.

I like Kerry. I like Edwards...some. I'm no longer enamoured with Dean, though early on, I went to his MeetUps and contributed. Edwards has some good points, but I'm afraid he's too much of a "face" for the majority of people. He's been a lousy Senator, and I worked on his campaign in N.C.

So, I'm really down to Clark and Kerry. Of the two, I feel that Clark would probably speak to MOST Americans (except the extreme right or left), and he might request investigations where there should be some SERIOUS investigations. Kerry may do that as well, but he's more easily characterized as a Dem party man.

As polarized as the country is, I think "democrat" and "republican" are terms that have come to polarize, and I think Wes Clark could fly under a NEW flag...."American"....which we DESPERATELY need right now, not only for our own citizens, but for the world.

But this is the Dem primary....so it will likely be a Dem Party man that is nominated.

What a terrible dilemma for our country, as a whole.

:kick:

83. Thank you.
I've been a member "technically" only since December 11, but I've been lurking for awhile. This was actually my first post. Kinda found it suiting.

Thanks so much again for the welcome :) I'm sure I'll run into you on MANY more Clark support posts.
