Might be a good time now to scope out the main people we see as candidates and start keeping an eye on things they are doing. Slap together a small data base of facts and figures and keep it rolling until they run (utilizing google alerts, etc).

1. Frist or Allen
I hope Frist.

I'd love to see that cadaver run against someone like Wes Clark who's fit and trim - oh yea - and not completely INSANE!

13. I don't think it'd be Frist
I think he has blown his chances a few times in the Senate such as with Bolton, stem cell bill and the filibuster ordeal that happened. And I don't think it'd be McCain either. I can't think of anybody else besides Allen.

2. Cheney/Bush

Dick and Jeb, or if Hillary runs and gets the nomination it could be Cheney/Dole. They don't like new names on their ticket.

8. Your second guess is better. That's my rationale, too.
Mostly 'cause Dole is actually, in my view, too moderate (and too good) for McCain at this time. I actually respect Bob Dole. And from me, that's saying something.

14. It won't be Rice
I don't think the men in the party who are in the administration would like that. Just looking at how they use her says a lot.

9. Candy Crowley said Mitt Romney is in NH snooping around..
So he'll probably be running on the R-side.

On the Dem side, she said John Edwards and Bill Richardson (NM) are hanging out there too.. (It was on Friday's show but they re-ran it again today..)

Dayum.. they're all getting early starts!

11. I think the VP will be
E Dole or Condi.

As for pres, if he (barf) wins in '06, I could see Santaroum. I would LOVE this. We would have the ability, assuming someone like Clark or Dean was the candidate (not another Clinton), to hand them a defeat like they haven't had since Barry Goldwater.

He said at the beginning of this year he wasn't going to run if he got the chair.

18. unless I miss my guess, it will be Bush . . .
not as a candidate for election, mind you . . . but as the incumbent who will remain in office as elections are suspended during our "great national crisis" . . . don't know what the crisis will be just yet, but you can bet next month's rent that it's coming . . . and sooner rather than later, imo . . .
