W.H. reminds media about 2004 meeting to justify why Bush won't come out
http://news.baou.com/main.php?action=recent&rid=20399

CRAWFORD, TX -- (OfficialWire) -- 08/08/05 -- While George W. Bush is hold-up at his sprawling ranch, safe from his many critics, Cindy Sheehan, the mother of Casey, a fallen U.S. soldier, has pledged to hold a roadside peace protest near Bush's Crawford ranch until he talks to her...until he comes out.

A Bush administration official told reporters that the president had already met with Sheehan back in 2004, in an effort to explain why he would not come out.

During an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer Sunday afternoon, Sheehan admitted that she had met with the president shortly after her son died. Sheehan was among about 15 other families of soldiers killed in Iraq who were invited to meet with Bush in June 2004 near Seattle, Washington.

According to Sheehan, Bush bounced into the private meeting in a jovial mood, as though he was attending a party and said: "Now, who are we honoring today...?" as he entered the room, signifying that he didn't even know who he was about to meet. The meeting with Bush occurred two months after her son Casey was killed in Sadr City on April 4, 2004.

1. Remember when he left Max Cleland waiting at the gate?

...and John Conyers at the WH gate?

He's the world's biggest chicken shit.

4. Remember the clenched-fist intern "greeting" Conyers?

I've been thinking about Max Cleland all through this situation with Cindy. Bush's level of contempt for the true people of character is amazing.

2. Well that's one explanation
And here's another. Bush is a cowardly piece of shit. So which one are ya gonna believe? I think a lot of the people in this country may just believe the latter.

6. You both are right. He is a cowardly chickenshit.
It is the reason his press conferences stopped. Remember the medai fawning. Seven press conferences in his first seven months of the new term. Well, they stopped as soon as Rove ans Libby's names came up with Plame and his numbers tanked on the Iraq War. He has not guts to face the mdia under pressure. And this WH media group are pussies for the most part.

5. He didn't understand that she was there for answers, not...
...an autograph.

The White House spin seems to be the old Scott McClellan "We've already addressed this" reply. The Emperor granted an audience, and does not wish to step out in the hot, hot Crawford afternoon.

Cindy, meanwhile, is sitting on a patch of dirt and risking dehydration or WORSE while the whole world watches.

And they ARE watching.

7. WH proves again it is clueless and doesn't care
Sounds like he didn't comfort or hug enough. Is it that difficult to take a brush cutting break and just talk with her? Or would that be setting dangerous precident, letting the people know their president might actually care about them?

8. Raise money for her to see him. They love that "special interest" cash.
Since the Republicans are always fundraising and taking money for meetings with the president, why not raise a few bucks on the internet and confront them with a check. I can hear the chant, "We're willing to pay, we're willing to pay. Please let Cindy speak with the president today."

10. Who couldn't see this one coming?
Expect it to become the official meme.

"President Bush has already met with Mrs. Sheehan and her family. She had an opportunity at that time to express her views to the President."

The WH will just ignore what she's saying about the meeting and play up that he did meet with her and will try to portray her as a stalker or worse.

Their only out is to smear Cindy and try to make her the issue.
