THE WORST HELD SECRET in political history |
|
That is of course the next POTUS Hillary Rodham Clinton. Everybody knows the manifest destiny of her candidacy and victory.
As history unfolds it is amazing to see everyone do their part. It is textbook Irving Goffman, from his book, THE PRESENTATION OF SELF IN EVERYDAY LIFE. From the right being scared to death and forced to really pray; and, the left pissing, moaning, and rattling their cage because of Hillary's centrist makeover. The clarkies are doing their part to make the Democrats seem like macho men with their support of the general. And the dreamers are holding their ground with claps of joy for kucinich, kerry, and gore.
It's all falling into place. The great birth of a great president is happening. Hail to the chief. NOBODY BUT HILLARY!

The Right would LOVE for her to be the candidate because she'll be really easy to beat. Any Senator will be easy to beat no matter how good a person.
Where are you getting this theory? Link?
As a "Clarkie" I don't think I have ever portrayed the Democrats as "macho men" to anyone so I have no idea what you are talking about.

11. I'm hoping she will hold out for 2012. She goes into office 2008 . . . |
|
Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 03:17 PM by frankly_fedup2
then she will inherit this mess of Bush's. Of course, it probably will continue past 2012.
If I were more than a part-time practicing Christian (which I'm almost ashamed to be that anymore), I would think this little arrogant ass is the antichrist himself.
I'm not catholic either; however, Pope John Paul, III, stated in the Catholic times back in 2000 that he believed GWB was the antichrist and he had started the last battle of Armageddon. Now the pope knows more about religion, religious dogma, politics, and pretty much anything else there is to know with his education compared to mine. His cardinals said the pope would become so animated when he talked about Dubya. They said that he had always felt that the antichrist would come during his lifetime. He also said his only regret is that he was so old and feeble that he could not fight him as well as he needed to. Now you know, Constantine XIV, was Pope John Paul's right-hand man. He knows everything that John Paul, III, believed and corrected him on anything religious in case he was wrong since Constantine was the Catholic expert of their bible and religious dogma.
There was another man who predicted all the popes and the last one will be "Peter II." This is the Pope to come after Constantine. The story is that the reason there has never been a Pope Peter out of respect for the Disciple Peter who is the father of the Catholic Church. Constantine is like a filler-in Pope until Peter II decides his time is due. Supposedly, this will tear the church apart. The cardinals will take sides against each other and there will be great tragedy in the Catholic beliefs.
I find that kind of interesting.

86. Drug-induced stupidity? |
|
I guess I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing. I am on a lot of medications for pain (Vicodin and wear a morphine patch), plus a lot of anti-anxiolytics and anti-depressants. I am disabled due to chronic pain. However, yesterday I was taking extra pain pills (as I am today). Some days it just takes more to get to where I can function. Obviously, yesterday I was functioning but inaccurately.
I had just bought the "Constantine" video the day before (that is where I was thinking the new Pope was Constantine instead of "Benedict XIV." The last Pope was John Paul the II and I was thinking he was the III John Paul
However, I did read about Pope John Paul II in the Catholic Times believing that Dubya was the antichrist. Also, as far as the prophecy by Malachy, I find it interesting. I didn't mean to come across as he is the Catholic Church's Nostradamus or anything. However, there has never been a Pope Peter and they state it is out of respect for the disciple Peter (that has nothing to do with the prophecy of course).
Thanks for correcting my errors. I would hate for someone new to come along, or someone that just passes things on without looking up the information, to believe what I had incorrectly posted, and then just passed it on.
We all have our moments (sorry)!!!

What has she done that is so critical? I'd love someone to stand up to these folks and stop stealing elections, but I just don't think she's the one to do it. Sure didn't do anything in 2004 when we all warned them it would happen.
I think it's gonna have to be us that does this.

So it is a fair question to ask on what basis you make that assertion. She hasn't stood up on this issue so far, so it would seem that we should take it on faith that she will do so in the future.

Hillary is NOT the Dem we want or need. She's being hoisted upon us by the right wing media machine, and a lot of corporate money.
The economy and foreign relations are going to be so unfathomably destroyed by the time chimpcons leave office, it would only give them someone they already love to hate to blame it all on.
If she's falling for their crap, she is waaaay too stooooopid to be president, anyway.
I'm sick of the hired help coming around trying to pump her up.

51. If she is the nominee, I will support her. But I think Gore and Clark are |
|
FAR more "realistic" choices at this point, and for a myriad of reasons.
And I am not a "dreamer", my views are pretty representative of a LOT of members of the Democratic party, and not the fringe, either. A "centrist makeover" might have made sense for Bill Clinton back in the day, but right now, certain things -like support for the war in Iraq, for instance- are deal breakers.. for a LOT of us.
Does she want it? Almost certainly. Is she being moved into place by certain people, including her husband? I'm pretty sure she is.
But is it a done deal?
Fucking hardly.

The PTB want anyone that will carry on their perpetual wars, the War on Drugs and the ones for global domination. It is like Chomsky says. The wealthy will give us two of their representatives so that we can ratify one.
Anyone that does not call for cutting the military budget is a puppet no matter how many times they chant their meaningless slogan "Strong on defense." The US military is all about offense and that needs to change. Hillary does not pass the military litmus test and she surely does not pass the litmus test on ending the WOD, the other perpetual war, despite its fraud and failures.
No drug warrior or pro-Empire candidate for me, thank you very much.

... they so badly want her to be the Dem nominee they hope to convince the rest of us by "catapulting the propaganda".

61. She does not inspire the base what-so-ever. |
|
And that will be a huge problem come time to find folks to knock on doors, man phone banks and stand on street corners.
Her idea to support Iraq War recruiters on college campuses shows just how out of touch she is- parents from neither party want recruiters breathing down their kids necks. It's an empty posture to show she "supports" a war that no else but hard-core Repubs support anymore- she thinks its last year.
I'll support Clark, Gore, Kerry or Pedro -I'll be hard pressed to do a lick of work for her.

to have inspired the base of one's own party. We know now that that only leads to our destruction.

I don't dislike the woman, but I don't want her for a president, either.
If we're going to nominate a woman, I'll go with Boxer.
I'd prefer to start with electing a woman vp; my ideal ticket would be Kucinich/Boxer.

She peaked early. Not many more than 40% will ever really like her and her extraordinary morph into "typical pol" is a great demonstration of just why she should not be trusted. One Clinton was enough. His screwing around and awful boundaries got us the * era. Hillary wouldn't do that but she'd screw up something really big and screw us again. She's toxic.

81. I wont vote for a DLC candidate, |
|
I have made up my mind, after kerry let us down, and Gore Lieberman I am not going to waste my vote on center anything.
Sorry!
I think there many like me who feel the same way. I dont want any more corporate pandering.
The Democratic party is dead until a REAL American steps forward, and that aint anyone named Clinton.
Sorry to disagree with you!

Too many people hate the Clintons. The right wing pukes are trying to pick our candidate for us again. Not only that, but electronic vote stealing will keep the pukes in power for a long time unless Conyers or Pelosi are able to stop it.

85. Well then, I guess it's all over.... |
|
Everyone pack up and go home. The outcome of the 2008 primaries have already been decided by the party establishment, so there's no point in trying to sell your favorite candidate to voters, and there's no point in discussing 2008 anymore at DemocraticUnderground...in fact, there's no point in even bothering to vote in November 2008 since Hillary doesn't need any "liberal wackos" talking her up.... :eyes:

These content-free posts are really getting old.
Are you ever going to think of anything meaningful to say other than, "Hillary will win?"

I'm not a fan of her for being president. What will she do different? If she does win the nomination I'd vote for her over John McCain or whomever the right puts up because I trust her a bit more then them. And hey maybe we can finally get that national health care she's been fighting for. Hillary's classy too. And think of having a woman president... Although it would be interesting learning the president's in school: Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton. Ha!

A syndrome marked by, among other symptoms, poor social skills, often a complete inability to accurately gauge and understand other people's emotions, thoughts, and responses.
Yup, that would explain thinking that Hillary is electable.
