One thing is standing between the American people and justice...
That is the US House of Representatives that is being run by Republicans. If we can change that, we can change this country. Next year is election year. VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! And drag everybody you know to the polls. If we can change the House, we can get their attention. Otherwise, they are going to continue to smirk and ignore everything we say. We need candidates in every Congressional district..I don't care how red they are. Bush will listen if we win the House. I guarantee it!

2. We need to mobilize everybody we know...
Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 08:50 PM by kentuck
Disabled voters are a huge bloc. That would be a good start. But we need to start talking about "VOTING" now and get people registered and to the polls in a revolutionary way. That is something they will understand. They will listen. Talk to all your friend and family. Let them know that is important that they vote. Their country has never needed them more than at this time. Get registered and VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! -- I guarantee George Bush will beg for "bi-partisanship if he thinks the House is going Democratic. He would shit his diaper.

3. The one thing standing between us and justice is
the rigged election machinery.

Fix that and THEN vote.

4. If I believed that there was no way to win an election...
Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 09:06 PM by kentuck
I would not be here. Yes, there are some shenanigans going that we need to fix but if you feel that there's no way we can win, no matter what, you should just fucking give up, and stop this horseshit about "your vote don't count because it's fixed anyway". Hell, just surrender.

6. I know about Florida...
What do you suggest we do? Forget about Florida because there is no way in hell we are going to win in Florida because it is "fixed" and fixed forever. Just like Ohio? And who knows how many more states. There's no way your vote is worth a shit. Just sign off and forget about it?

8. If you truly believe this...
then everything is for naught. Nothing can be accomplished, except by violence, if we discount the possibility of ever seeing another fair election. We are wasting our time. I may as well sign off. Goodbye.

11. You don't have to drag Bush voters....
They proudly march in lockstep down to their precincts. We just have to kick their asses at the polls is my point. Only then will the moron in Crawford even recognize there are more Americans than just right-wingers.

14. Leading asses to water..
doesn't mean they will drink it.

Telling them to vote doesn't mean they'll vote the way you or I would want them to.

Kerry was nothing to vote for other than a vote against Bush. This from someone who worked for Cuomo. I didn't like Kerry, he just didn't take a stand on anything. Didn't help that Teresa couldn't keep her expensively manicured foot out of her own mouth throughout the whole campaign. Just turned people off.

The DNC needs to focus on jobs. And health care. And illegal immigration & it's impacts. And social security. And a safety net for people who hit hard times. And quality education.

The masses like myself can and will vote, vote, vote, vote, vote and ... VOTE for candidates that listen to our concerns and actually address, better yet act on the issues that matter to us in our day to day lives.

17. People vote.
according to what is their best interest right now.

If you have a good job and are cruising along and are happy with the status quo you want to go with the current flow. You either aren't aware of or figure whoever you vote for will damn the big ole waterfall ahead.

Unfortunately, with the new Bankruptcy regs combined with the rising price of oil and easy credit I see so many people who have overextended themselves getting into a world of trouble and with the current administration they will have no options available to them.

Curiously, those who are put out but voted for Bush will next go round vote for anyone but...

16. we voted: then they thru them away in Ohio - need papertrail!
People react like the episode in Ohio was a figment of countlesss millions of other people.

I saw the hour-long video of what they did to the blacks and in some precincts that required 3-4 voting machines there were instead 1 7 2 claiming there were no more available when Blackwell had 128 extra machines in "storage"

Election fraud was not proved to not occur!

18. Voter fraud
Was there any such discrepancies in rural Appalachia? Do we go out and hold those folks hands? Has anyone even bothered to check it out or is there a fear it would go against the prevailing thought?

And I'm wondering why the African Americans in Ohio whose precincts were offered up didn't question discrepancies? Voter turnout isn't mandatory afterall.

Why must we hold everyone's hands? The elections are well publicized and outreach is extensive. More so in Ohio than here in upstate NY for sure.
