.. now, don't shoot me, I was just pondering this.

We know Fitz has Grand Jury(s?) operating in DC, obstinately for the Plame affair.

We know Fitz has Grand Jury(s?) operating in Chicago also, as the story today about him starting to dig into Daley.

Now... just for a minute, open the minds...

The story that appeared on the 'site that will not be named' implied that Fitz has indictments(or whatever) from the Grand Jury in Chicago, and folks (probably correctly, but...) yelled 'bullshit, He's in DC'.

He is in Chicago also.

What if, WHAT IF! (and I've always believed those two words are some of the most powerful in the world), that in order to 'keep a low profile' for what could be some of the most devastating indictments in the history of this country....

... Fitz is using the Chicago Grand Jury for that purpose as a (er.. bad term, but whatever) "shadow Grand Jury".

The one in DC is doing the majority of the Plame investigation, but material is being passed to the Chicago Grand Jury and they are conducting their own investigation (re: the 'runaway jury' concept).

I ain't saying it's true...

I ain't even saying it's got a chance of being true...

But if Fitz is the aggressive investigator and prosecutor people say it is...

.. could it be possible???

The Chicago grand jury is a very specific investigation having to with very specific Illinois politicos and has NOTHING to do with the Plame case.

Chicago is the other prong of the Fitzgerald attack on corruption. I doubt that it concerns Bush, et al.

Mr Fitzgerald has filed criminal complaints against two city officials in Chicago, alleging "pervasive fraud" at City Hall and charging them with using political patronage to award jobs and faking tests for employees.

I'm no lawyer, but it would seem that the respective jurisdictions of the respective courts (and thus grand juries) would rule out your theory...:shrug: But, if we assume that is not the case, I would think that travel of all these witnesses (which appear to be pretty substantial by now) from DC to Chicago would be hard to keep secret...

That's my take, at least...
