Post your favorite picture of the politician of your choice

Think he'd cut and run off on vacation in a dump like Crawford while his men were dying?

Shame on Bush

7. I gotta bunch of 'em ......
I'll start with a two-fer .... George McGovern and a guy with an apron on:

My man Charlie:

My hope for the replacement for the retiring Sen.Paul Sarbanes (D-MD) is this guy, Kweisi Mfume:

And my hope for the new governor of Maryland, Baltimore's mayor, Martin O'Malley:
In his work clothes:

In his pol costume, on DC's WTOP 'Ask the Mayor' call-in show:

Another two-fer ..... the toughest lady on Capitol Hill, the fearless Maxine Waters with my Congressman, Elijiah Cummings behind her:

Needing no introduction, our greatest speaker ... ever:

And a woman that I continue to admire. She's smart, accomplished, and to me, at least, a real babe:

From our glorious past, the sorely missed Barbara Jordan of Texas (shown with some peanut farmer from Plains, Georgia who made something of a memorable impression on the world in his own right):

My new hero, with another of my heroes:

...and with his family:

God, we've got some great people on our side!

Hazen Pingree, mayor of Detroit (c 1890-96) and governor of Michigan (1896-1900). Kept the fare on the Detroit Street Railway at three cents for the working man and allowed hungry people to use vacant city property to grow truck gardens so they didn't starve in the depression following the Panic of 1893.
He was a Republican, BTW.
John
The guy who succeeded him as governor, Aaron Bliss, was from my hometown of Saginaw (one of only three -- David Jerome and Wilbur Brucker being the others).
