Du MedaiWatch activists report on TV Coverage of Camp Casey:
The following is a summary of the National Commercial Broadcast Networks coverage of Cindy Sheehan’s Peace Movement in Crawford on their evening broadcast on Thursday August 11, 2005.

The GOOD News is that 2 out of 3 three major networks provided some coverage of Cindy and Camp Casey in Crawford.
The third (CBS) may have bridfly mentioned Cindy, but provided no covertage of the protest.

The best coverage was provided by NBC who lead their report with Crawford and Cindy.

lildreamer316 on the NBC report:
“They basicly did a bio and showed pics of her in the camp; talking to reporters; laying flowers at the cross with Casey's name; just a couple of actual clips with her saying something. First one I believe was "I want to know why Pre. Bush killed my son". Not too much negative except a clip of Pat Bucannan saying something about it being detrimental to her the longer she was out there. Just basically said that she had met the prez before but she wanted a personal audience and some answers;and that her position was that she wanted the troops pulled out. Also ran the clip of Bush from today saying that she had a right to her "position". I think that was it.

They did mention that she was a registered Dem and a self-proclamed Peace Activist. Don't know why that was relevant…”

tech3149 on NBC coverage:
Short video shots of crosses, crowd, and Cindy with bush the lesser speaking at intro. After that about 1-2min segment dedicated to Cindy that was slightly biased toward dimson but not including any smear or he said-said.

Midlodemocrat on the ABC report:
“Led off with report on Cindy's actions in Crawford and continued with * speaking from the ranch about how the mission needed to be finished. blah, blah, blah. Condasleezy and rumliar were behind him.”

Leftchick on the CBS coverage:
CBS did the least amount of time…a few seconds about "That woman".

bvar22 on CBS Report:
If they covered it, I missed it.

achtung_circus on CNN (Lou Dobbs?)report:
opened with a "joint" story of *'s press conference and Cindy Sheehan. I didn't have a stop watch, but it was my impression that they spent more time with Cindy than Fucktard. They included rebuttal to the FR spin that Cindy had a good time with Georgie Peorgie last year by saying that at that time she did not have the questions to ask that she now does.

Thanks to all DU MediaWatch Activists for monitoring the individual stations and contributing to the running thread in Gereral Discussion.

3. Wow. I didn't think anyone was interested,
but enough people thought this was important enough to recommend it.

Thanks.

I may try to make this a regular feature.
The "Open MediaWatch threads" will be in General Discussion and open to contributors who are monitoring the nightly commercial broadcasts.
