John Kerry & Iran Contra - Information Wanted Please |
|
Beyond CIA selling crack to LA & arms to Iran, what happened?
What was the media response? Was Barry Seal murdered during his trial?
How effective was the media/gov't spin? How did the story get killed?
How did it go from this (CIA selling blow) to The War on Drugs?
Was it as insane then as it is now to suggest Poppy was "out of the loop"? (Ex-CIA Director!)
Please help fill in the blanks. I was very young when this happened and only learning about it over the last 3 years after BushCo took over.
Thanks!

2. All I can say ius that from my perspective Kerry let the Bushes get away |
|
Edited on Mon Jan-26-04 10:16 PM by seventhson
Her headed an investigation which pointed straight at them and they are not even MENTIONED in the report's conclusions as subjects for further investigations or complicitous.
We all knew Poppy was the ringleader. We needed Kerry to nail him and Kerry punted. He let his skull brother walk. Many many innocents, many women and children died in the iran-contra cocaine business, They are still dying. Kerry is partially responaible.
That is my perspective.

but I can give Kerry a little more credit than you because whatever they'd have done, Reagan would have pardoned the guilty anyway.

6. Do you believe he was a limited hangout? |
|
Someone who gave the appearance of an investigation, while only revealing a little to give up most?
If so, who were the people genuinely investigating this? Where they any?
thanks, seventhson

Mostly independent journalists.
Seal was murdered and might even have implicated Clinton for the Mena deals. Stephens (Clark's guys) too would have gone down,
Congressman Henry Gonzalez was the top investigator on the Hill and he raised hell every day -- but nobody listened.
After it all Bush pardoned the criminals, the feds let the guilty walk away. Kerry IMHO pissed his credfibility away by failing to pin the blame on Bush.
and the BFEE crime enterprise continues unabated.
THAT is one main reason I oppose Kerry.
How can we trust him to nail his brothers in Skull?
We can't.
some say he tried. But if you read his reports, they are SILENT on the Bush complicity. SILENT. LOUD SILENCE.
He could have prevented this madness 15 years ago and relegated the Bushes to a footnote in mopdern history.
He chickened out or covered for them knowingly IMHO.

10. don't forget he also left Gary Webb hanging out to dry |
|
ten years later. When Webb was being attacked, Kerry attacked along with the Republicans, even though Webb based a lot of his stuff on Kerry's report.
Webb was getting attention, and putting together the pieces, and Kerry's true intentions came across loud and clear.

this has some info and the only reasonable counter-explanation for Kerry's investigation...I don't know which is true, but I am voting for Kerry. it seems to me like he was one of the few trying at all and at best, he is an honest patriot.

Also search for Lee Hamilton and October Surprise to get additional information.
Lee sits on the board at NED with Wesley, GWB just said he wanted to double NED's funding in the SOTU.
IMHO, we may be looking at an October Surprise of our own this year, sometimes when you win, you lose.

14. Read Robert Parry's book Lost History. |
|
He was the journalist of note on IranContra, and he gives a straightforward report of it from beginning to end.
If anyone would have seen any sign that Kerry was trying to cover it up, as some who hate Kerry claim, then he would have caught it. He didn't.
Also, when Congress was ready to drop IranContra hearings, Kerry worked with Ralph Nader to get more information out to the public. Kerry pursued the case further by sending Robert Morgenthau the info in NY so he could prosecute some of the characters. Bush1 was busy handing out pardons before he left.
