A few days ago, I took a wrong turn and ended up in a bad part of town. As I tried to find my way back to the highway, it struck me that the scenes taking place around me could have just as easily been occurring in a Third World Nation (perhaps Zimbabwe). Parts of this country are so far-removed from civilized society that they would be unrecognizable to many Americans.

Based on U.S. Census statistics, whites will become a minority in this country by 2050. In Texas, California, and New Mexico, Latinos have already surpassed whites as the majority population. Illegal immigration is effectively turning the American Southwest into a Mexican colony.

When the U.S. becomes dominated by blacks and Latinos, our country as we know it--will cease to exist. Crime, drug/alcohol abuse, and illegitimate births will cripple this nation. We will no longer have a tax-base on which to depend. Every product sold in this country will be imported from Asia. Our economy will be comprised of nothing but low-paying service jobs.

In 1940, the illegitimacy rate amongst Harlem's black population was 20 percent. Today, 80 percent of America's black children are born out-of-wedlock. Decades of liberal excuses, race-baiting, and the acceptance of lower standards have decimated black families.

It is a well-proven fact that children born into single-parent homes are much more likely to live in poverty. They are also less likely to finish high school or even become productive citizens. Unfortunately, precious little value is placed upon education within a large segment of the black community

The Clinton Administration seemed to have an open-door immigration policy, and President Bush is continuing the fiesta.This unlawful exodus has placed a terrible strain on the school systems, emergency services, and even the social services of those border states. This nation's beleaguered Southwestern residents already feel as though they have been living in a war zone. It is also a war in which they are losing. The federal government has abdicated its responsibility in this matter.

This is the only industrialized nation which places no importance on border protection.

We have watched our school system destroyed, due to the lowering of standards necessary to accommodate black students. We have seen our business community emasculated, being told who they must hire and never fire to appease the affirmative action nuts and stave off tremendous, though baseless lawsuits.

The blame for this current and future state of affairs can be placed squarely upon the shoulders of the 'great American liberal'. President Lyndon Johnson and his 'Great Society' programs have helped to send a large segment of this country into a permanent welfare state. Those same programs helped to destroy the black family, by rewarding people for not marrying while having more children than anyone could support. The same bleeding hearts that advocated so fervently for the integration of our once proud public school system were meanwhile--sending their children to lily-white private schools.

I'm not saying you can't get good classes at a community college. I've taken several lab courses at my local community college and I've also had many courses at a public university and two private colleges. I can say, unconditionally, that the BEST learning experience and the best teachers were at my local community college. I wasn't talking about the quality of the learning experience. I was saying that the author was criticizing other people for not valuing education when he, in my opinion, didn't value his own education enough to continue on. You say you teach at the community college. Great. Did your education stop there? Doubtful. You have at the very least a Bachelor's or more likely, a Master's or Ph.D. Admit it - you value higher education.

He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised.

All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers’ medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It’s noon time, Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.

Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to dad’s; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republicans would still be sitting in the dark!)

He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show, the host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn't tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.) Joe agrees. We don't need those big government liberals ruining our lives. After all, I'm a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have.
