1. They were not. Bush lied, troops died. Period. See DSM for details. |

Are you in favor of prosecuting the Administration for lying to Congress and taking us into an illegal, unConstitutional war?
This is a far more relevant question than yours.
If OBL, Pol Pot, and Adolph Hitler had been found hiding in Iraq, would anybody be against the war? I doubt it BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER because none of those conditions were true. In other words, since the question is already mooted by overwhelming evidence, I have to suspect the motive behind the question.

there were WMD's so no. Even if he had them, which he did not, it is highly unlikely that they could/would have ever been deployed in the US.

9. No. I was in favor of getting the one who attacked us in Afghanistan. |
|
Edited on Sat Aug-13-05 01:52 PM by kikiek
Our biggest threat is still out running around planning our demise and thanks to us has grown in numbers. We have handed them Iraq for their great big training camp. The weapons inspectors were in Iraq. The sanctions were causing the collapse of Saddam. Many have predicted he would have been forced out without any further intervention. He was contained. We did exactly what Osama wanted. We became his pawn. He got rid of his enemy Saddam, and we upped his rank and file by more than he could have dreamed. This whole war was so poorly planned it is hard to even believe. This administration lives in a fantasy world. To top it off we have left Afghanistan in shambles. And most likely will do the same to Iraq.

11. What's that stupid old saying? If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, |
|
we'd all have a Merry Christmas?
Knew they wouldn't find anything there before 'Shock and Awe', couldn't believe we would sink so far down in the moral sewer that we would drop bombs on innocent civilians.
Sometimes my trust in humanity and my faith in my country fall mighty damn short.

12. I hate these stupid ass what if questions trying to justify the moron* |
|
Post a real question and I will answer it.
This is one of those inside out questions. Where you are asked a what if and then the questioner feels free to exploit the answers to justify morons* reasons for going to war.
Now listen carefully because I'm only going to say this once:
THERE WERE NO WMD'S IN IRAQ and IRAQ IS NOT CONNECTED TO 9/11!
Why do in gods name need to ask this kind of what if??????
This is like saying what if Napoleon could fly?
Whew that felt better, now go away..
oy vey, people.
colossal failure*.

I'm just trying to understand the root of peoples' opinions. Personally, I'm against the war too. I just want to see what others have to say about it.

14. No, and in fact, I assumed something was in Iraq. |
|
I didn't htink that there were operating labs or delivery systems. I just figured there was something buried in the desert not easily deployable, and that as long as we had inspections, we would find it and it would be destroyed without the risk of an invasion.
I was surprised that there was NOTHING in Iraq.
But I still opposed the invasion.

...shit would fly. What's your point? There were no WMD found, BushCo and the war supporters were TOLD (or at least we tried to tell them) that they needed to let the inspectors do their job, because there were serious doubts as to the veracity of Chalabi and Curveballs information...
Hypotheticals at this point are utter bullshit. There were none, none were found, and Bush pulled out the damn inspectors so he could invade before they found out that there were none and told the world, thus robbing him of his reason to invade.
I'm fairly certain Pakistan has both WMD and Ossama bin Laden, should we be invading and occupying them?

24. No. Saddam was contained. Osama was the problem. But, more |
|
importantly, B* lied to the American people. Even if WMD's were found, that doesn't change the fact that B* fabricated evidence. Just as B* has continually lied to the American people on every other issue.
