Cindy Sheehan Blasts Bush and U.S. Policy With Harsh Remarks

"That lying bastard, George Bush, is taking a five-week vacation in time of war," Sheehan tells the Veterans For Peace, Mike Ferner. "You get that maniac out here to talk with me in person. Bush needs to tell me why my son died in Iraq. I've got the whole month of August off, and so does he."

Sheehan has since taken up with many anti-war groups who have taken the opportunity to line side-by-side with the mother who plans to take the protest straight to the streets of Washington, D.C. when Bush returns after Labor Day.

"The other thing I want him to tell me is 'just what was the noble cause Casey died for?' Was it freedom and democracy? Bull---t! He died for oil. He died to make your friends richer. He died to expand American imperialism in the Middle East. We're not freer here, thanks to your PATRIOT Act. Iraq is not free. You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you'll stop the terrorism," she says."There, I used the 'I' word -- imperialism," the 48 year-old mother quipped. "And now I'm going to use another 'I' word impeachment because we cannot have these people pardoned. They need to be tried on war crimes and go to jail. I am not paying my taxes for 2004. You killed my son, George Bush, and I don't owe you a penny . . . you give my son back and I'll pay my taxes. Come after me for back taxes and we'll put this war on trial."

in there that don't sound like Cindy. Maybe the writer dressed up his piece a bit?

I posted it "as is" to see what the rest of you folks thought, but what would REALLY be interesting is to ask Cindy if these are direct quotes.

My guess is that this article is bogus.

4. I have worried all along that too many others have agendas they want

coat-tailed onto Cindy's theme. Her message is simple and direct. I do not believe she was responsible for the given quotes above. If she does broaden the scope of her message, fine, but it is unworthy of others to "use" her as such.

6. Well, I'd like to know if the quotes are accurate or not. But I don't

object to "lying bastard" and "maniac." It's the truth. Slaugthered over 100,000 innocent people in the initial bombings in Iraq (according the British doctors' report). gezz that is all i have! i digress...she did say those things ,i googled mike ferner and the august 9th interview is the first on the page,yet why didn`t doug link to that article? instead he used march article that ferner posted at counter punch that has no mention of cindy. i also found he`s been referenced at freeperland.
i suppose that`s the kind of "crack" reporting you get from an aa degree
