1. Don't worry, Tweety's up on MSGOP later. I'm sure he'll ask Cindy
why she hates Elvis and isn't off remembering his death. After all, Elvis' death effected a lot more people in this country than did Casey's death.

3. Every August 16 the same thing
marathons of Elvis movies and specials and news reports. Hell, they don't do this for Sinatra, Crosby, Stewart or any other celebrity! It's like JFK's assassination is recalled every year. Perhaps it's because Elvis was still so young (42) when he died.

4. Or maybe it's because he was freaking ELVIS
I mean, I'm not even a huge Elvis fan, but the guy made a mark on pop culture that no one -- and I mean no one -- can possibly compare to. Without Elvis appropriating black music and making it safe for whitey, there is no rock 'n' roll.

5. Apples and oranges.
Elvis was Elvis. To some people, he's the closest thing to a resurrected Jesus there ever was.

Like others have said, it's completely different, and while I understand where you're coming from, you just can't argue with the King.

6. Here we are, decades later...
...and the Elvis people are still at it. I remember when he died and every Elvis fan lost his/her mind. ENOUGH ALREADY!!! Let's let Elvis rest in peace and get on with more important things.

7. My thoughts were why can thousands of people
get off work, travel to Graceland for Elvis, when we need more people with Cindy. Oh well.

9. Maybe they like Elvis more than Cindy
For the record, Sinatra deserves a bigger day than Elvis.
