Post your Cindy vigil here
It seems that more than one of us has a Cindy vigil in their area. I thought it would be nice to put them in one place. Here's mine.

"Dear Erica,

Peggy Bull has put together a vigil for folks closer to Waukesha.

Peggy says:
“We will meet at the corner of Clinton and Wisconsin, in Cutler park by the Public Library, in Waukesha, at 7:30 and go for an hour. Bring candles and a quiet spirit. This is for August 17th at 7:30 pm and we named it the "Vigil for Answers" “

Join with those who want to know the justification for the Iraq War.

"I invite mothers everywhere to stand up with me so that no more of our sons and daughters lose their lives for a war based on lies and deception. Join me in demanding the truth- and an end to the war- by organizing vigils across the country, before one more mother's child is lost." - Cindy Sheehan

Waukesha Democrats
Rick Congdon - Chairman "

We also have one in Milwaukee tomorrow.

3. Are you anywhere near Groton, MA?
There's a Mass person in the Kerry group who's going to a vigil there. I can get more info for you if it's not to far away.

I'm not sure
...if that's in metrowest. However, if it's within 20 miles, I guess I can make it. I'd need an address, at least.

including MA. I could go to Lowell or Nashua or Groton. I want to go to the small town vigil because I am a small town Mom and it most closely matches who I am. I go as a Mom with two kids ages 18 and 20 and the deep desire to not see anymore Casey Sheehans or Cindy Sheehans emerge from this nightmare of a war.

I'm not going with any big cards or anything, but just as me. I am just another fed-up American who wants the killing to end.

12. Quite near my old stomping grounds
I was born in Norfolk. A blue patch in a Red state. I was proud of them this last election. How did VA Beach do?

5. Key West, Higgs Beach, 7:30 p.m.
I'm driving down from Key Largo after work and will meet with friends and plan to spend the night. So far thirty four people have signed up, but I think that number will grow quickly since Key West is a pretty liberal town.
Will be thinking of all my fellow DUers in other towns doing the same thing, and especially those in Crawford.

18. Also Santa Monica - Wilshire@3rd; and Wilshire@Veteran(W.La)
...and several in the Palisades,Beverly Hills, etc. LOTS of choices here! Though the one at Wilshire/Veteran near the Military Cemetary there might be the most symbolic, visible and largest attended.

11. I just signed up for one in the bay area. There is a huge increase in
Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 12:42 AM by caligirl
the number of people hosting vigils here as compared to the numbers willing to host election related moveon meetings. In my area of Alameda
County nearly zero activism here last Nov. Now I can count six events tommorrow to support Cindy. There are dozens of viigils all over the Bay Area and its growing. People who did nothing before are signing up now.

From my area of this county there is a growing swell of anti war activism.

13. I'll be attending the one at Anton & Bristol, Santa Ana
It's across the street from the South Coast Plaza where all the "haves" shop. We get a lot of honks at our peace vigils there on Fridays so it was good to see that someone had scheduled it for Wednesday for Cindy.

15. Several on CA Central Coast -
Morro Bay, Cayucos, San Luis Obispo, Grover Beach and I think, Paso Robles are holding vigils tonight at 7:30. It's a pleasant surprise - my impression has been that if the locals are not Republicans, they are apathetic. Winds of change?

16. Coconut Grove, FL

Vigil for Cindy Sheehan
Peacock Park
17 Aug 07:30 PM

This vigil is being held in support of Cindy Sheehan's heroic efforts. She deserves the right to have her voice heard. Please come down to the Grove, give an hour of your time with other like-minded people, and send a message to Bush that he cannot and will not ignore this mother's plea and that this war must end. This event will be held in Peacock Park, so it should be accessible to all. Candles and signs will be made available by host, but if you can, please try to bring any candles you may have and any signage you may want to display during the vigil. The vigil will start at 7:30pm and should last around one hour - one hour to reflect on the sacrifices others have had to make as a result of Mr. Bush's senseless war. Join us.

Location: Coconut Grove, FL 33133
Host: Alexander Gonzalez
Status: Public, open for RSVP, 26 Guests (Max 1000)
