Sheehan vs Sheehan
Sorry if dupe. This was in the NY Daily News "Daily Dish" today.

Sheehan vs. Sheehan

President Bush might have a few more allies in his stalemate with activist Cindy Sheehan - Sheehan's family.

"My kids and I feel like we've had two losses: Casey and now our wife and mother," Cindy's estranged husband, Patrick Sheehan, tells People magazine. "The kids are angry and lonely for her." His wife has been camped outside Bush's ranch in Crawford, Tex., since Aug. 6, hoping to talk to the President about the death of her soldier son, Casey, in Iraq.

Son Andrew, 21, adds: "I think she should come home."

That's the whole thing. 2nd story down if you want to see it anyway.

1. The kids of soldiers in Iraq probably want their parents home, too.
So maybe we work out a compromise. We bring the troops home to their families and Cindy goes home to hers.

2. "our wife and mother"
That just says it all doesn't it? I knew that his problem. She stepped out of her role.

7. You nailed it: she stepped out of her role without their permission
And they're feeling angry, betrayed, and punitive. How dare she! She should be completely satisfied and fulfilled by the roles of Wife and Mother. The Holy Church says so, and it's never wrong!

or that the "kids" are all over 18. So why is he acting why she left him and the kids in the lurch? Has his side of the family put him up to it?

4. What especially disgusts me is that
the corporate whores publish quotes like this from Patrick Sheehan and delve into Cindy's marital problems while not taking the time to sit down and conduct an in-depth interview with her. The whores are flat out ignoring the story behind the story.

Who was Casey Sheehan? Why did he enlist? How did he die? What did Cindy learn that influenced her thinking and provided the impetus for her to carry out this public vigil? What information does she have that other Gold Star Families don't?

The corporate whores and Bush Crime Family have apparently decided that Americans can't handle the truth so they've resorted to shooting the messenger.

8. Again this personalizes
the selfishness that is inherent in all of us. OF COURSE you would want your sprouse/mother/father home. I hate it when my husband works too much. But that he's doing for the whole family. If he was personally trying to end a war-well I think I might be miffed if I was lonely-but I'd keep quiet about it. Cindy is doing something that her soul says she must-it's so profound-even if you disagreed with her on everything-she is doing what her soul tells her-how can you not respect that and REALIZE it is something that trumps your needs?

The woman is trying to end a war by forcing answers..sorry dinner isn't on the table.

11. Son Andrew is 21...
He should grow up, and get on with his life. When I told my grown (and moved out long ago) children that I plan to be in DC next month, my daughter's response was, "Make sure you leave enough cash at home, so we can post bail for you." When I told her it probably wouldn't be more than a few hundred bucks, she said if that was the case, "This one's on us." Gotta love that.

12. From truthout:
A statement about the Sheehan's divorce:

"The first one is about my divorce. I addressed this on my blog the other night. My divorce was in the works way before I came out to Crawford. My husband filed the papers before this all started. It just recorded last Friday. My husband didn't know that it would become public record, and public knowledge. He had told his lawyer not to serve me with the paperwork or even bother me while I was at Camp Casey. He was trying to do the right thing. He didn't want me to find out. Enough about that."

Cindy's statement about the letter from her "family":
"I think it's accurate. I think my husband's family did write that. But I don't really give -- I don't care what they wrote. Because, No. 1, it's their opinion and they're entitled to it. But No. 2, they called him something like "our dear Casey." You know they're hypocrites. They didn't even know Casey. They didn't spend any time with him in his life, and now they're using his death for political reasons, I think.

Casey's my hero because of the way he lived, not because of the way he died. For these people who never ever went out of their way to spend any time with him to actually dare speak for him, I think it's hypocritical. Casey lived a great life and he was an honorable man and he died in a dishonorable war.

What about other members of your family -- are there people in your family who do agree with you?

My immediate family, Casey's dad and my three children and my sister, we're all on the same page. And I really think that some of my husband's siblings are with us, too."

15. Cindy is trying to make something good out of something horrible.
She is focused on getting others out and it hurt their relationship. Too damned often marriages don't last the death of a child. Nothing new there. I feel for the family. I feel for us all.
