DU this poll on Governor Taft: should he resign? (convicted today)
Ohio's Governor Taft has just become the first governor of Ohio to be convicted of a crime while in office. He pleaded no contest to ethics charges today and was fined $4000. Taft says that he shouldn;t resign because he was elected by Ohioans to do his job.

So there is this poll that is being offered by a local Columbus, Ohio station. Currently, the numbers are 81% want Taft to resign and 16% do not (3% undecided). I would like for this poll to be even more against Taft (because he is a bastard who helped steal Ohioans votes in 2004).

Let em have it!

3. wasn't he being tested for possible presidental fodder?
After the Guvernator's potential faded with his support, some powers that be were looking for a non-senatorial candidate.

I suspect his possibilities have fallen far, far off their approved neocon list.

6. He's been political toast for more than two years...
Democrats loathe him, and Republicans basically held their collective noses and voted for him in 2002. Ever since then the budget deficits (which Taft swore didn't exist in his debates against Tim Hagen) and the non-stop scandals have effectively ended his political career.

He's the worst governor in Ohio history, and that includes Jim Rhodes, who gave the National Guard the go-ahead to open fire at Kent State.
