1. Yes, your gas is still too cheap.
In canada it's at 3.75 - 4.00 per US gallon and we're an oil exporter.

6. It's not about the price, it's about a fast increase in a short time.
It's sad that Americans are getting more angry over gasoline than Iraq.

3. And...
Guess who's making all the $$$ off this war? That's right, *'s buddies. The owners of the gas stations aren't making squat, even with near-record prices when adjusted for inflation.

Think of all the good that could have been done with that $118M...but that just wouldn't be his way to give it to the people via socially beneficial programs, or use it to pay off some of the deficit he's run up. And think of how many lives would have been spared.

What a waste of an administration. :eyes:

4. check out my post re: young techies...
Arundhati Roy is the voice of all of the little people in the world. We need to get her speech out beyond NPR. Listen to her talk about the Enron deal in India. They make money, and everyone suffers.

5. I understand your idea, but
but shouldn't that be 118 Billion? You are sending 9 Million students to 4 year college for 200 dollars a year? I don't even care what the price of gas is in this case. Those people were flesh and blood. Pray for the wounded.

11. You're right, it's supposed to be BILLION, not MILLION. It's a typo
The war is costing $9 Million per minute.

Why do we repeat old numbers?

That figure was from May.

It is now mid-August.

9. Where did you get your figures?
The BBC stated that there are over 100,000 dead Iraqis. And I thought I heard the war has cost $200 billion. I don't know where I heard that though.
