For all of you Naysayers who think that Clark's Win is a joke....
Consider this...

What is going to be the one headline greeting all the potential voters in about 6 hours????

Oh, yeah,

"Clark Wins First NH Contest"

The subtle influence on undecideds will be real, and others may honestly question who they are going to vote for later in the day.

Folks, the Media is a huge influence and if the Headlines read that Clark is a winner, he very may well win NH.

1. let's be realistic
it sure won't hurt him, but I doubt it'll be a big influence. But any news like this is good.

8. Sorry Dook but the Odin son is not totally off the wall
This is free publicity, no matter how the media tries to spin it, and the New Hampshire voters know this is part of their treasured ritual. If the ham-handed media (with apologies to the candidate at Hart's who beat out the whole Joe-mentum surge) bobbles this one it is almost sure to produce votes for Clark.

And if they play it up, it is almost sure to produce votes for Clark.

Win, win situation.

And if Clark does better than the media expects, the pollsters and pundits look stupid. That makes it a win, win, win situation.

Hey, I can dream, can't I?

5. "Clark Wins First Votes in N.H. Primary"
AP headline

It may not help that much but it's positive.

Trust me none of us Clark supporters are silly enough to get our hopes up over these two small victories. We have just had a REALLY rough couple of weeks and needed some good news!

9. Heh, I wouldn't count on that, Jenk.
I imagine the phones at Dean and Kerry and Edwards HQs are ringing off the hook since 12:15.

And the phones at the White House have been ringing as the news whores call in for the way to handle this little story.

They aren't newscasters. They just play them on television.

I love it when negative campaigning backfires.

16. I'm so happy for him!!!!
I just wanted to hug him because he just looked so humble and starstruck!!! I admire that in a person. He has been looking so exhausted from campaigning so hard. The others have looked that way, too. I sure feel bad they have to work so hard. I couldn't do it!

Congrats for a small win Clark supporters!

21. actually
The voters of Dixville Notch traditionally cast ballots in the New Hampshire primary just after midnight. The town's voters have correctly chosen the eventual Republican nominee every year since 1968.

22. If NH voters can be influenced by this...
...it's another reason why they shouldn't traditionally be given the first primary. It would prove they aren't up to the responsibility.

24. Imagine Bush wins Dixville Notch by a landslide on the morning of 11/2
Would you (or any other sane person) switch your vote to Bush because of that?
