Senator Feingold on Meet The Press. "It's not a deadline, it's a target." |

A middle course that would allow us success in Iraq and empower the Iraqi people to take responsibility for their own country.

7. Well, we went there to steal the oil, I guess, so it must be when all the |
|
oil is stolen. These Dems are so gutless! The invasion was illegal and the Congress was lied to...not ONE more person should die in this mess. Out today.

3. It is a good move on his part to put out a proposal to end the occupation. |
|
and I, for one, support his efforts.

4. General in Iraq told him, "Nothing would take the wind out of the sails of |
|
the insurgents more than a timeline."
An unending Occupation of Iraq is a the ultimate insurgent recruiter. That should be a "no brainer."

6. What do you mean by that? |
|
Of course Feingold was not the only one to oppose the war to begin with.

8. So sorry, let me elaborate. |
|
Yes, many opposed the war, me included. What I meant to say was Feingold was the only politico that voted against the invasion of Iraq. http://feingold.senate.gov/~feingold/speeches/02/10/2002A10531.html

12. No, he was not. My senator, Corzine, NJ did not vote for it... |
|
neither did Ted Kennedy. In total 23 Dem senators did not vote for it. And many Dem congressmen did not vote for it.

10. Feingold's answer is not different from what many dems have offered |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-21-05 10:21 AM by Mass
except for one thing, the target date, and even then, kennedy offered a target date one year ago, so there is nothing new. (I obviously was not talking about Hill or Biden).
I am all for it, but it is not that new.

14. You are exactly right ! Kennedy mentioned this first. Kerry elaborated |
|
on it and the media, with its short attention span as well as some DUer's give Feingold credit for actually repeating other Dems ideas and suggestions.
